Disappointed
The application: 1200mm base unit in our kitchen.Annoyed by the damp odour coming out of it when open I decided to measure the humidity inside. The reading came up with a shocking 80-85% at about 14-17C. These were average values in a 5 day period. Perfect breeding ground for mould! I have to add that the unit is situated on the outside wall. So the area to dehumidify is what, about 0.42m3, let's call it 0.5m3.According to the manufactures recommendation I should get away with their smallest bag size. Since I thought it's better to be on the more powerful side and especially if size doesn'tmatter, I'd better go for the big boy. After one week I can report that the product had zero impact. I dried ('recharged') the bag once and there was some steam coming out of it...nowhere close to the stated 180ml of water though. Up to now I'm disappointed and it turns out to be nothing special. This is a bag full of the silicate stuff you get with little electrical gadgets, you know those little paper bags and probably with similar capacity. What I don't understand is, how on earth can they spec this product for use in 'home, caravan or boat'? Perhaps they mean drawers which, of course, you can have in the home, caravan or boat. I'll keep trying and see if it gets better. At the moment, 2 stars.

This doesn't work
I bought this last year in preparation for the winter. I have a convertible car and the roof leaks when it rains and therefore the inside of the windscreen can freeze up when the weather is really cold so I thought I would pre-emp the situation and remove some of the humidity before the winter set in.Unfortunately it just does not work. At all. I have had it sitting in my car now for at least four months and nothing has happened. It says that the 'penquin' image changes colour once it has reached saturation and needs to be reactivated....well, it changed colour within a couple of weeks but without doing anything at all !!!I am really annoyed that I bought this, which was rather expensive at the end of the day, and it's not done what it said it would. Please save your money. I'm off to Poundland to by their 2-for-1 dehumidifiers which I know do work (as I have them around the house) and I'll juts have to try and fix it into place somehow so the liquid doesn't spill as and when it starts to get to that stage !

Sucks the water out of my car interior.
Bought this to sit in front of the gear stick of my two seater open top fun sports car. It is still doing a superb job after a few months use. When it first of all came out of the microwave the Pingi logo stayed pink. After the cooling down period recommended in the paperwork, the logo remained pink. It has never gone back to blue, but changes back to a beige colour before changing to pink when full of water. It's so nice to have a car that doesn't smell of damp, let's hope Pingi keeps working for a few years before needing to be completely changed.

One works fine in my Vauxhall Zafira but two - one on ...
Fed up with freezing to death on a winter's day havng to put the air conditioning on full in your car to clear condensation on the windscreen?Put a Pingi near your dashboard! They absorb moisture in the air and thereby reduce condensation. Recharging is simple - just pop it in the microwave for 4 minutes (2 mins on full power + 2 mins rest time + 2 further minutes on full power). One works fine in my Vauxhall Zafira but two - one on each side of the car - might be better if you have a large vehicle such as a 4x4 or people carrier.

Unusual
I bought this because the idea of knowing when the dehumidifying element needs replacing is brilliant. The penguin logo turns pink, for the uninitiated. I thought it might make help make the room more bearable during close/humid weather-doesn't seem to.

For a car?
Bought this for our car(Ford Focus,) which takes ages to demist. Have had it for about two weeks, think it makes a slight improvement but I am doubting whether it is worth the price. The size surprised me, its bigger than I thought but not too big.
