I bought the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus v4 (2m base kit) to add some ambient lighting at home, and I’m really impressed with it. The colours are vibrant, the white tones go from very warm to cool and bright, and it instantly makes any room feel more cosy and modern. It looks especially good tucked behind furniture and along edges, giving that “floating” glow without seeing the strip itself. Setup was very simple. I plugged it in, paired it via Bluetooth in the Hue app, and was up and running in a few minutes. The app is easy to use, with loads of scenes and effects, and it’s great being able to dim the lights, change colours or turn them off from my phone. Voice control with Alexa/Google/Apple also works really well once linked. The strip itself feels good quality, the adhesive backing sticks firmly, and I like that it can be cut to length or extended later if needed. Once it’s installed you can more or less forget about it – it just comes on with your routines and quietly does its job. Overall, this is a fantastic smart lightstrip if you want reliable, high-quality ambient lighting that integrates nicely with a smart home. I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

This Philips Hue lightstrip is easy to install and gives off excellent, even lighting. The colours are vibrant, brightness is strong, and it works seamlessly with the Hue app for custom scenes and schedules. It’s perfect for adding ambient light under shelves or behind furniture. Although it’s not extendable, the 3-metre length is generous and works well for most setups. A quality product that does exactly what you expect from Hue.

Philips Hue - you'll have to remortgage your house to buy them (or be drunk like I was), but they are really quite good. I bought these quite a while ago to go round the edge of my desk - an alternative to having a ceiling light on. They do work really well - giving a nice even light to light the walls, and they feel more premium than cheaper LED tape you can get. The colours can give a lovely ambience to a room or it can make it feel like a gamers PC tower. They are only 2m in length, but you can buy add-ons to extent it. All in all, they're lovely, and far cheaper than the gradient versions, but the price is somewhat a stumbling point with all Philips items, hence the 4 stars.

I have a office which was too dark and needed to light up my background and bookshelves. This strip is perfect for it. 1 x Control Strip 8 x Extensions The challenge is that i need to run wire from each piece to the control strip + cut strips to length + solder + wire. It is really finicky work. the strip itself is basically indestructible, I have made so many misconnections, incorrect connections and short circuits i'm amazed it still functions. But after a few false starts got going. I realized that someone in Phillips is very clever with how they designed the connector for the straight pieces. It works great, but i need more then the 2 they sent me in the main control device. The local electronics shop also sells micropin connectors for PC Risers and this helps to solder wires on so i don't have to work directly on the strip. Also 6 core wire for alarm systems works perfectly and can slide right into the female pins to that is easier. It all works beautifully, but until you get the hang of it there is a strong learning curve, especially why you need to create many different lengths.

This lightstrip runs along the back of our TV unit and looks absolutely stunning with the Hue Sync Box. The colours are vivid and the white tones are properly warm when you just want ambient lighting in the evening. Installation was easy, the adhesive backing stuck firmly to the back of the TV stand and hasn't peeled off at all. Being a v4 strip it connects directly to the Hue bridge without needing any extra controller which simplifies things. The colour range is impressive, we mainly use it on warm white for movie nights but the kids love cycling through the rainbow colours. It integrates perfectly with our existing Hue setup, all controlled through the app, voice with Alexa, and our Hue dimmer switches. The 2 metre length was just right for our TV unit but you can buy extensions if you need more. Brightness is more than adequate, on full white it actually lights up the room behind the TV nicely. We also use it with the Hue HDMI Sync Box and the effect during films and games is genuinely immersive. Not the cheapest lightstrip you can buy but the Hue ecosystem integration makes it worth it if you're already invested.

So this is my second light strip for under the the kitchen counter. Again no issues and having learned from installing the first one this was even easier. Cut the strip as needed and installed no issues. Again I've seen some reviews where people say the adhesive isn't very good. When I bought my first strip I was wary of that and when I pulled the first piece of backing of the adhesive cover it pulled the whole adhesive leaving a less than sticky strip. This is what happens when you pull the adhesive cover from the end of the strip even when you cut. Carefully reversed what I did and then pulled the adhesive cover from the cut line in the strips. You can see many cut lines in the adhesive cover pull it there! Trust me) All in all love the colour and brightness in the kitchen now. Great product. Would by again

1. 10m is a long, if you are thinking about putting these up high, you’ll need a couple of ladders and two people to do it. 2. They aren’t sticky enough and kept falling down. We had to by the red scotch double sided tape to put them up. 3. The backing tape on these splits and tears easily so it just ends up taking a long time to remove the tape as you holding the light up. Fiddly. 4. One section stopped working properly almost immediately we got them installed. It was such a pain to install that I’m not about to ask for a replacement. 5. Should be better for price them.

Excellent produit. L’installation est simple et rapide, la lumière est homogène et les couleurs sont variées et fidèles. Petit bémol : l’adhérence n’est pas extraordinaire, surtout si le ruban n’est pas collé de façon parfaitement linéaire. Cela demande un peu de soin à la pose. Dans l’ensemble, c’est un produit de grande qualité qui transforme l’ambiance et donne du caractère à la pièce.

This is the worst product made by Phillips Hue. I want to know who decided in their Phillips executive meetings to STOP supporting Apple HomeKit after over a decade of encouraging their customers to use HomeKit! The worst idea ever! And I know they’re going to say that it’s made for the new Phillips Hue Bridge. But my old one works and you should always think of backward compatibility. Now I have to watch for Phillips hue products to see if they support HomeKit.

Je l'ai installé sous mon lit avec une routine connecté à mon détecteur de mouvement Philips Hue pour l'allumer (lumière très modérée) ou l'éteindre automatiquement dès que une présence est détectée la nuit. Du coup, je ne me prends plus les pieds dans le tapis et mes claquettes sont bien visibles en allant aux toilettes. Quand je regarde des films ou juste les infos avec lumière tamisée, la bande lumineuse allumée aussi ajoute une certaine touche dans l'ensemble.
