Meinl PBCA1NT/ EBKM Pro Bongo Cajon

Very authentic and pleasing sound. Compact design makes it a useful travelling companion. Plenty of volume and projection when needed but still has a very good tone when played quietly. And it never needs tuning which means it's always ready to play.

An excellent sound is produced, and this instrument was delivered in a very timely manner.

I was thrilled when I found this bongo cajon available on Amazon. I also own the Meinal non-snare bongo cajon and it also sounds good. This professional version is much more comfortable to play as it has some "rough" sides that allow it to rest in between your thighs with a little friction. The heads are more like actual bongos and can really simulate the manipulations that great bongo players can do to get different sounds out of them. Just press down with one hand on the head while your other hand taps on a sweet spot to get the sound that you want. You will have a blast while playing these and they are easy to mic as the sound projects forward. I don't know if they will gain any real "acceptance" among traditional bongo players but at least they will never go out of tune.

The vendor was great, quick service. The product is a small, poorly constructed, poor sounding few pieces of wood. In my opinion, sounds nothing like bongos and I'm surprised this company put this out.

I bought it for my 16 year old son,who is super thrilled with the sound and the size. The portability of the unit is a great plus.

These bongos are small enough to travel with and take on plane, yet have fantastic tone, clarity, and volume. A real pleasure to play!
