Excellent product
I have used this product hundreds of times with excellent results. I think the negative reviews come mostly from people who don't understand the principles of polishing, which are a little more complicated than you might think: 01. In general, you don't buy a polishing compound, you buy a polishing system. Manufacturers, like Novus, make sets of abrasive products that usually go from coarse to medium to fine. In some product lines there are extra coarse and extra fine abrasives. Once in a while you can buy a singe product that does the job, but in most cases it's better to purchase a set (system) of abrasive products in the same product line and learn how they work. That's why this product has a #3 on it. 02. The polishing system that you buy has to be appropriate for the material you want to polish. The Novus system is designed for specific types of plastic. You have to find out exactly what material you have and buy the abrasives that are designed for it. 03.Once you have the right set of products, you start with the product that will remove the deepest scratch. If you have a 1/8" deep scratch in wood, you can't start with 400 grit sandpaper. You'll just end up with a highly polished scratch. In that case you would start with maybe an 80 grit, and then go to 120, 220, 400, and 600 for a really smooth finish. That holds true for every material you will ever polish. The material and polishing products will be different, but the process is always the same. 04. Not all scratches can or should be removed. When you want to remove a scratch, you have to look at how deep it is and think whether you can afford to remove enough surrounding material to get rid of it. Deep scratches (deep enough to feel with your fingernail) in CDs and DVDs usually can't be removed because you'd have to remove so much surrounding material that you would cut through to the data layer. A really deep scratch in an aquarium probably *could* be removed, but you are either going to have to live with a visible "dent" in the surface (the surrounding plastic that you removed) or you have to sand down the entire sheet, which can take quite a bit of time.

DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
I was so excited to have found this product because I have a somewhat superficial scratch about 2 inches long on my bumper. However, I tried using my usual wax and it didn't work, so I bought this item. Just received it yesterday and tried using it. It did absolutely nothing. Not at all what they claimed. terribly disappointed.

Follow the instructions and it will work.
This plastic cleaner is ideal for glass as well as plastic and removed most of the fog from my plastic headlights on my car, an acrylic glass face on a 1942 boat clock came out very presentable with an application of this wonder worker. I now am looking for other things around the house to try this marvelous product on. No complaints here.

Works on light scratches only
On one area of light scratches it worked fine. However, the other area more heavily scratched is still scratched. I worked and applied 3 different times with no avail. Sorry, very disappointed. I'll probably try again but not very hopeful.

Works Great For DVD/Video Game Disk Resurfacing!
I purchased this product in hopes it would help me to resurface games and movies faster. I use a JFJ disc resurfacer, but the white polishing compound JFJ provides is not course enough to grind through deep scratches. I was able to quickly remove deep scratches in a matter of minutes with Novus. As for others claims this product left scratches after buffing, of course it did, that's what its supposed to do! It will leave a lot of light scratches if you're resurfacing games, movies, etc, but it also removes all the deep scratches and levels out the surface of the disk. If you want a fine finished polish, then follow up with JFJ's blue solution, and don't use the JFJ pro pads for the final polishing, they wont work to remove very fine scratches. Use the JFJ double arm pads instead, but you'll need to cut them in half first. Notice the disk pictured above, its a copy of Maximo for the PS2. When I started with the disk it had so many deep scratches I thought it could not be repaired. I fixed it and polished it out to a fine finish in a matter of minutes. Overall, I recommend this product for resurfacing optical disks such as movie or games, it works incredibly well, and its made my job as a game dealer 10X easier!

Car Windshield and Window repair
I had scratched my windshield and driver side window pretty good during snow removal. I was afraid I was going to have to replace my windshield because the scratches were pretty annoying and noticeable. After some research I decided to try this product. With a few applications and some elbow-grease, I was extremely pleased with the results. The scratches werent super deep (not noticable when running a finger nail over them), but they were very visible. Now they are almost imperceptible. They no longer distract and you could not see them without knowing where they were prior. Excellent product.

Good product.
Great scratch removal but not for deep scratches on glass but it helps somewhat.

Works really well as a sc
Easy to use and an effective quick way of removing a scratch. You will need to use the grade 2 polish after using the grade 3, to take away the rub marks and polish up the polycarbonate.

Quite abrassive.
Does what it needs to do, within reason. But you really need the full set of 3 to polish out the scuffs left by this product.

Quality results with a lot of elbow grease
I ordered this along with Novus 1 & 2 (all 3 parts are needed) as a last ditch effort to get the scratches out of our acrylic coated fiberglass tub. Started with Novus 3 and within 5 minutes of heavy scrubbing I noticed the scratches being removed. After using Novus 2 for the fine scratches the reflective surface started to show again. Novus 1 is a good polisher/protectant to use before and after parts 2 & 3. Don't expect this to be easy if the damage is significant. It takes a lot of elbow grease and patience to see the results, but there is not much else out there that is safe and readily available for such tasks. I spent about 1.5 hours on a 4sq ft area and it does look brand new now. Much cheaper than having it refinished in this case. To sum it up it is a tremendous product and I enthusiastically recommend it if you have patience and realize not everything can have instantaneous results with minimal effort.
