Best Mech Keyboard Yet
8BitDo have nailed the IBM 'Model M' retro aesthetic and the switches are a joy to type on. Rock solid build qualiity, far better than many far more expensive mech keyboards (looking at you, Logitech MX Mechanical Mini) EDIT: I'm using on Mac, and the A and B buttons serve very nicely as two Command keys.

8Bitdo Mechanical Keyboard - the modern old keyboard
A perfect mechanical sound, just like the old terminals. Nice gray color and cute rounding on the keys. Good form factor - not excessively large, but with all keys needed for comfort coding.

Must Try Retro Keyboard
This might be my favourite keyboard I have ever owned. The build quality is second to none. The feel and sound is so nostalgic. It's everything its trying to be. If you like retro keyboards, but this one.

A decent, retro-cool keyboard
It's a very retro mechanical keyboard, similar to the IBM ones from the 80's. It's hard to find a good compact TKL keyboard like this. It connects with usb-c cable, bluetooth or (included) 2.4ghz dongle, which is a great set of options. The keys are good and nicely clicky, and it has some programmable & swappable keys, which is useful. The keys are loud, but that's exactly how they're supposed to be. I'm using it with a Mac, so have swapped a couple of keys to make it more like a Mac layout. There's a few downsides. It doesn't have a UK £ symbol on it, though the £ does work. I wish the the Enter/Return key was double height, as I keep hitting the key above it. And the giant buttons seem more of a gimmick than something really useful. Those programmable buttons are duplicated on the keyboard anyway, so they do seem like a pointless waste of plastic. But they might be useful for some people.

Love it but needs UK keycaps
Pros: switches are beautiful in use. A little noisy but that’s ok for my environment (just no stealth typing in meetings); I love the design; the accompanying software opens up huge possibilities for customisation; the A & B buttons are customisable so you can truly customise for efficiency. Con: for me just one but it’s a big one. The keyboard is US layout which means | is missing and @ “ are in the wrong places i.e. when I type shift+2 I get “ but the keyboard has an @ symbol. 8bitdo doesn’t supply UK keys either with the keyboard nor for purchase afterwards so you will be stuck with the wrong symbols on your keys. You could but third party keys to fix this but given the style of the keyboard it would take away from the retro look.

Tastiera stupenda!
Ordinata per una postazione da retrogaming, la tastiera è comodissima! Bello anche il pad esterno personalizzabile

Worst keyboard ever. The keyboard doesn't work or type only the sound bar works. It does everything except type.

I love these keyboards!! The IBM Model M Reincarnated... with a Tiny Twist!
If nostalgia were a keyboard, the 8BitDo gaming keyboard would be it. From the moment I unboxed this retro marvel, I was transported back to the days of floppy disks, CRT monitors, and the sweet sound of dial-up internet. But let me tell you, this isn’t just a blast from the past—it’s a fully modern masterpiece wrapped in an IBM Model M-inspired design. First, let’s talk about the construction. This keyboard feels solid. Like, "I’m-pretty-sure-it-could-survive-a-drop-down-the-stairs" solid. Or "Fend off an attacker" solid. Every key press feels like a celebration of engineering perfection thanks to the kailh V2 white switch, producing a sound that’s not quite a “click” and not quite a “clack” but something gloriously in between. My friend said it was a 'thock'. It’s the kind of sound that screams productivity—and probably annoys your housemates, but hey, genius at work, right? Connectivity is where this bad boy really shines. Bluetooth? Check. 2.4G wireless dongle? Check. USB-C? Double check! You’ve got options for days. Want to pair it with your laptop, desktop, or tablet? No problem. This keyboard handles it all seamlessly, switching between connections like a pro. It’s so versatile, you’d think it moonlights as a universal remote. Now, let’s address the tiny elephant in the room: the volume knob. Yes, it’s small—adorably small, like it’s auditioning for a role in 'Honey, I Shrunk the Knob'. But you know what? It gets the job done. Turning it feels oddly satisfying, even if you need to pinch it like you’re adjusting the world’s tiniest safe. In short, the 8BitDo gaming keyboard is an absolute joy to use. It’s a love letter to classic design with all the modern conveniences thrown in. Whether you’re gaming, typing up a novel, or just basking in the glory of its nostalgic charm, this keyboard delivers. And if you ever feel like it’s judging you for typos, well... it’s probably just channeling the spirit of an old-school IBM engineer or your high school typing teacher. Rating: 10/10 – Would annoy coworkers with the key sounds again.

Great all around keyboard with a retro vibe
Just as expected - very nice, robust and the retro clicky sound is great. I am using it specifically for a retro system and it does not fail to impress. It has all the modern features for a new system as well (I am using several 8bitdo keyboards).
