There's a hefty quantity of generally well thought out work so it's good value. The tone is excellent: so many exam prep. books adopt a jolly, jokey, cringe-making style; this doesn't. This takes the student seriously and offers useful advice and clear explanations. There are even some open-ended questions which suggest that the students' ideas are valid (providing that they can be backed up with evidence.) I'd be inclined to use this from Year 9. The most able students should have outgrown it by the time they reach Year 11.

Good book but a little pricey - worth it if ...
Good book but a little pricey - worth it if you are struggling with the subject as this is NOT a revision book - it guides you though practicing the skills you need - but does not fully link to the exam questions so could be confusing for lower ability students. worth the price if the learner is on the grade 3/4 boundary.
