Teton Universal Sleeping Pad
I have owned a Teton 5° mummy sleeping bag, and inflatable pillow for a few years and have taken them on numerous camping and hiking trips including one to the Himalayas in Nepal. The sleeping bag is well made, functional and affordable and this sleeping pad is no different. I brought the sleeping pad with me for a short weekend trip with my son's and I slept like a baby and woke up without being sore. The pad is surprisingly lightweight, the canvas material is durable yet soft to sleep on, and it expands two inches when you unroll it. It has a good r-value when using it on my Coleman Trailhead II cot which has a thin canvas on it that can get cold at night while sleeping directly on it. My back wasn't sore and it fit my cot perfectly. Looking forward to bringing this sleeping pad with me on many more hiking and camping trips in the future. If you are looking for a sleeping pad that is lightweight, durable, and comfortable - this is the one you want. You won't be disappointed. Teton makes great camping gear.

Great pad
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I purchased the Teton XXL cot, so I had to have the Teton XXL pad to match. It fits perfectly. It has a zipper to access the pad for cleaning or replacing. It also has a zippered compartment for a pillow. The roll up stick is removable. You can remove the stick and pad so you can wash the cover. The size is roomy. The pad is easy to roll up with the provided stick. It's very comfortable to sleep on. Very durable material and well made. The coard loops on the corners keep the pad in place while you sleep. I would definitely recommend this product.

Usable length only 79 inches
After 22 years of sleeping on the ground with the Marine Corps, my new idea of camping is driving my truck to a remote location and setting up a comfortable base camp - comfort being the key word. I replaced my hard foam military sleeping mat with a self-inflating one, and while that was a huge step in the right direction I started thinking I wanted a good cot and mattress pad instead of laying on the ground. I'm 6'3" and tired of my feet hanging off the end of my beds, so the TETON XXL cot and this accompanying pad was what I decided on, and when this pad went on sale for under $100 I ordered a couple. I don't have the cot itself yet, but this pad can work as a ground mat without the cot. First, the total length is 84 inches, but the usuable length is only 79. The other 5 inches is at the head of the pad and is designed to hang over the end of the cot with a small zippered pouch, supposedly for valuables or maybe an mp3 player, and a flat wood slat to assist in rolling the pad back up. Laying on my stomach my toes still hang over the end, but that's much better than my ankles, and on my back I'm completely on the pad. It's wide enough for both me and my 45lb Labrador to lay on and the material feels sturdy enough to stand up to years of use. It's almost as comfortable as a real bed, and much more comfortable than any other sleeping mat I've used. It doesn't come with a transport bag so while I may look for something in the future for now I kept the boxes to store them in. The cinch straps are heavy duty nylon with snap-lock buckles, sewn onto the pad itself. That plus the slat at the other end makes it really easy to roll them up tight, or if you want roll them up really loose so the pad isn't compressed between camping trips. There's also a zippered pocket at the head that you could put a pillow into, but since I like flipping my pillow over while sleeping I doubt I'll ever be using it. As other reviewers have stated, this isn't a pad for backpacking. And it is wide so it'll take up more space in the car than most camping pads. But if comfort is what you're looking for, you can't go wrong with this pad. Update Sept "13: because this pad didn't come with a storage/carrying bag I had been storing them in the original boxes until I could find a bag the right size. I couldn't find anything this size that opened on the end, not because of the diameter of the rolled pad but because of the length. I first tried a 16" x 40" duffle bag which was 2" larger in both diameter and length than the measured rolled pag, and while once inside the bag the pad did fit perfectly it took too much tucking and forcing to get it in. I ended up with the Northstar 1050 HD Tuff Cloth Diamond Ripstop Series Gear/Duffle Bag (18-Inch x 42-Inch) . The rolled pad goes in and out of the bag smoothly and there's a little extra room so you don't have to roll the pad tightly.

Over 500 nights sleeping on the Teton XXL: Here's what you need to know
I purchased the Teton Outfitter XXL in the summer of 2024 and have slept on it almost every night since. I live in a rural area in a 1920's home that has a very large porch and I sleep out there in almost all weather. My wife thinks I'm crazy and I must admit, maybe I've gone a bit feral. That aside, the mat has been great. It's much more comfortable than I expected, particularly when you consider it's on a wood floor, not a cot. Regardless of what position I sleep in, I'm comfortable and it offers support. In winter, it's warm providing I have enough wool blankets and I've slept on it on nights down to about 20 degrees. In summer, it does not feel hot. It has also withstood the test of heavy use. I can conservatively say I've slept on it more than 500 nights and it seems just as thick and firm as it did when new. The cover is durable and washable, but I have not needed to remove it because I covered the top and bottom with fitted twin-size sheets to keep it clean. Also, it's not inflatable, so you don't need to worry about it getting punctured and going pretty much flat. All in all, it's a great mat. So, why only four stars? It's not because it's bulky and heavy. Those things just come with the territory of it being large and thick. One very minor drawback is it includes a small pocket on one end for keys, change or whatever. I doubt that is ever used, so there's no real need for it. It also has a piece of wood on one end that is supposed to assist in rolling it up. I don't see the need for that, either. It's just an additional expense. That brings us to the real reason for four stars: price. At $149, it's more expensive than some full size, 8-inch-thick memory foam mattresses. It's also significantly more expensive than other similar mats on the market. I just don't see why it costs so much. If the price was down to even $110, I'd give it 5 stars. That said, if the price doesn't bother you, buy it and sleep comfortably. It's a quality, durable mat.

comfy, perfect fit with my TETON XL cot
Took this on a five-day glamping trip with my family. I slept under a down comforter in a fuzzy duvet, so under my body was only a fitted sheet, this cot pad, and my cot. It got down to the low 40s at night. I was completely warm and comfortable with this soft, dense pad. For those who are still capable of sleeping on the ground, this pad would easily make a good ground pad too. The pad is upholstered with a regrettably orange fabric. The fabric is very sturdy, and pleasant to the touch. One of my favorite elements of the pad is that there are attached straps, so when you roll it up, the straps are right there and you can keep it rolled easily. After being stored rolled, when I unrolled it, the pad mostly laid flat immediately, but there was a bit of a curl at the end of the pad. After sleeping on it, that curl went away. At first I was disappointed in the thickness (I'd been looking at those huge 3 inch pads, which would roll up enormous), but I'm a convert. It is completely comfortable on my cot, and while it rolls up to a large size, it still takes up a lot less room in the car than the larger pads. I'm glad I bought it and recommend this pad highly. I hope I've been helpful!

Great sleeping pad!
Ordered this for my next camping season. I decided to test out at home. Went to lay down and fell asleep. Really comfortable when used on a cot. It is kinda bulky when rolled up but honestly isn’t an issues for me. Tried to sleep on it over night but my wife said I was a grown man and need to come back to bed. Highly recommended this product. Just a small update, I have found this mattress to be the perfect bed topper at the fire station. I use to wake up stiff due to our hard city provided mattresses. Now I sleep better at work. I even roll my sheets with it. Solid product.

Cot Pad is fantastic - too bad mine was OBVIOUSLY USED
Amazon should be ashamed. The mattress I received today was OBVIOUSLY A USED PRODUCT. It was not rolled properly and the box was HORRENDOUS. The box looked like someone had took it camping, got the box wet and then tore up the box so it had to be held together with large guantities of clear tape and the "original" box is basically destroyed to the point where the top does not close onto the bottom. The box is FILTHY. This was no post office problem - THIS IS AN OBVIOUSLY WELL USED MATTRESS which was returned and now sold to me as "new". I was boxing it back up to send back when my company arrived early and this cot mattress was desperately needed to cover a well made expensive roll out cot that was pure torture (no exaggeration!!) on a back. My guest was extremely comfortable on this cot which is a miracle. There were many times in the past after spending money on other foam mattresses and pads that didn't work to make this roll-out cot tolerable that I thought to sell or throw out the cot. I am glad I did not because this TETON pad solved the back agony problem. My bedroom is being renovated now (removing an old oil chimney, fake drop ceiling, painting, etc. and the work is taking longer than expected so I am now sleeping on the cot. My guest was correct- this TETON PAD is extremely comfortable. NOTE: This works great on tile floors. It makes the floor very comfortable to sleep on. I tested it just to see after reading a soldier's comment about sleeping on the ground with this. He was correct. It was very comfortable. April 2016 - FANTASTIC!! I needed an emergency bed and a fold away cot I had broke. So, I laid an old door on four 5 gallon empty buckets and put the pad on the door.. I gave my guest my bed and I slept on the "door". It was extremely comfortable. The guest stayed for 4 days and I had no problems sleeping each night. August 2017 ( purchased a 2nd Teten Sports pad and is time it was used. This thing is fantastic. I used it on top of a thin mattress quest bed and it is so very comfortable. Out of curiosity, I put it flat on tile floor and slept on it all night and it was comfortable..

Best cot pads!
Excellent pads, roll up easily, have areas where they can be attached , zippered area for keys and wallets, and a phone holder in the cover. Perfect depth of pads. Ordered two of them. Unfortunately, the size was too big for our cots. I ordered cots prior to the pads that had the wrong dimensions on Amazon listed. The wood bar under the pad cover was broken on arrival. It helps roll the pad up. Would have kept it anyways and the other pad if the sizes weren't too large. Think the wood bar may have gotten damaged during delivery versus quality issue. Noticed a dent in the box after processing return. Will order two others from same company once returns are processed. Highly recommend these pads.
