Great practice book. If you do want some extra practice for your child, this is great. There area different tasks and the answers are at the back for your reference. I have found it to be in line with the curriculum as well. I will be purchasing again

The activities are fun and varied, which keeps my child engaged. The levels of difficulty increase gradually, which helps build confidence. I also like the progress tests and QR codes for extra listening practice. The answer section is handy too. It’s a solid resource for boosting maths skills, though it might benefit from a bit more variety in exercises.

This is a practice workbook for Year 3 Mental Maths. It follows the National Curriculum, so should be relevant for all primary school children at the appropriate age (approx 7 - 8 years). The book is well presented, and well laid out. The questions are clear. Where pictures are used, they are in colour. There is an index of subjects at the beginning and the answers to the questions at the end. There are 4 mixed progress tests as you go through the book. Finally, there are 8 audio tests available by pointing your phone at the QR codes at the top of the page. Throughout the book, you write your answers in the spaces provided, and an adult can mark them. At the bottom of each page is a 'had a go', 'getting there', and 'got it :-)' summary smiley - useful if you need to identify areas where you should go through a page a second time. I ordered all 5 of the Mental Maths series, and have been really impressed by all of them. Price is reasonable. Thoroughly recommended.

They are well designed and easy to understand, and will help children and parents to engage with each other while improving their mathematical understanding and number skills. In a way, they help parents bring maths into the home in the same way as reading is practised at home. I am looking forward to working through these books with my grandsons. The material is based upon the national curriculum, and seems progressive and logical in its approach. The audio tests (you scan a QR code with your phone) help children get used to what to expect in the SATS tests at school, and are illuminating for parents too. I include a picture of the preamble and a sample page from the book. Overall, I think these books are excellent, and are just what is needed to improve mathematical skills in children (and perhaps parents too).
