Can it be placed on its side under a sofa?

Only if the sofa had 8 inch legs and you want the speaker firing into a carpet.

Will be using this solely for loud, heavy and quick punchy bass will it it be able to handle that and reproduce good quality?

It can handle all of those, however this will also be dependent on room size, positioning, quality of signal input and interconnects. Please remember that it’s only an 8” sub so it won’t deliver really low frequencies that shake out your fillings! I have a medium sized room and lay it flat (grill downwards) with domed rubber isolating feet. I have an Audiolab 6000a amp that runs it on QED interconnects coupled with B&O 706s2’s I mainly listen to Dance / Electronic music including DNB from a lossless Wi-Fi source (iTunes) and it’s incredibly balanced across bass, mid and highs. Highly recommend!

Can use in US 120w power input?

Good Morning Unfortunately you cannot use the 3060S subwoofer in the US with the 120w power input. You would need to purchase the US version which is available from Fidelity Imports LLC. Kind regards Samantha
