Learning Resources Spike the Fine Motor Hedgehog, Ages 18+ Months, Toddler Fine Motor Toy, Colour Matching & Counting Peg Play

I bought this for baby grandson when he was 10 months old. He could just about place one of the spikes. Four months on he still loves it. He has not got the concentration to fit all of the spikes but it is good for hand eye coordination. We play feeding the hedgehog and the spikes have been used as pretend characters when he is playing with his vehicles. You can store the spikes in the toy so that the spikes don’t get lost. Nice quality plastic.

My 2 year old loves this toy. I bought for a plane journey a few months ago. This kept her entertained for a long time. Good quality for the price. Great Colourful design. Opens up to store the ‘spikes’ making it easy to carry around and not worry about losing parts.

This is a great toy to improve your childs motor skills. Although it states 18m+, I think you can use it from 12m+, make sure your child is supervised thought as the pines can be a choking hazard if your child decides to put the whole thing in their mouth!. My son loves this toy now and has done so since he was 18+, he loves to stick the pines in all over the place and take them out and re-arrange them. sometimes placing them in colour coordination.Although the hedgehog has number the pines dont, it would have been even better if the pines had numbers on them as it would have helped with number learning and matching as well.You can open the back of the hedgehog to places all the pines inside, so it can be tidied away nearly.I have not be honest though, I dont think this is worth the price tag of £16.99, I would expect a toy to have a few more functionality for this price. But the toy itself is great for the age range.I can vouch this is also Chew Proof!! My son is a vicious chewer and this toy has stood the test of time.

Great item. Encourages for fine motor skills

My daughter loved this, but it’s she has never been able to put the 2 body parts back together. You have to make sure it’s in the exact right place. It’s a good toy, but I’d say this needs fixing as she was very frustrated everytime the back come off and couldn’t get it back on.

Our 1-Year-Old was bought this and he loved it so much that we bought it for his friend's birthday party. I try not to buy much plastic but this is something that I felt as education and has fun associated with it. There aren't any loose parts that will should cause danger and is pretty sturdy for them to play on their own.

Surprisingly good value for money. Lots of skills to build and schemas to support in a single toy - fine motor, sorting/colour/pattern recognition, memory, counting, transporting. Makes for a perfect gift!
