Will this pump fit my troy built 27 Ton log splitter? Or is it compatible to pump # 718-04127?

What type hydraulic fluid should I use with this pump?

i used hydraulic fluid, found at a tractor supply store, designated for equipment of this nature. pretty common stuff. comes in quarts all the way up to a 55 gal drum.

can this be used for a blacksmith press ?

I'm not sure. But I can say it boosted the splitting power of my log splitter. If you have the same line configuration, I'd give it a try. I will tell you that I had to install the handle back works on my log splitter.

Easy to install

After "Poppa's saw shop" in Milwaukie, OR, ruined the brand new pump they installed I bought this pump and control. I installed it, adjusted the pump a little, and it's worked very well. We've split lots of wood without a hitch.

It does not come with instructions on how to install.

One I figured out how the lines went. And the right configuration for the in and out. It works better then the original pump. I have yet to figure out where the two-stage part comes into play yet. It would be very helpful to have instruction with the pump kit.
