Looks Good
Got this for greasing a new John Deare mower. I never used a grease gun before. The instructions for setting it up and clearing out air were detailed and lengthy. Took me a good while, mainly just from me trying to understand how it worked and get familiar with the process. Could do it in 10 minutes next time.Once I got it set up it worked really well. Some folks have mentioned it was hard to remove the nozzle from the connection after applying grease, but followed the instructions to tilt and wiggle and it came off no bother. Can't compare to other grease guns since this is my first, but this thing is solid as a rock. All the metal parts are good thick steel. My guess is will last forever.

Great instructions!
I like that this grease gun came with easy to follow explicit instructions for setting it up.I also like that there is an air release valve and tips in the instructions on its use.I was able to grease my John Deere lawn tractor with no problems!

Good grease gun
It does the job. It’s the first time I am using a grease gun, so I don’t have any reference comparisons. The fitting can be a bit difficult to remove, but on the other hand, you don’t want it to leak either. It comes off by wiggle it in different angles.. eventually. It’s a learning curve... Other than that, it does the job well. I use it to grease my tractor mower.

Great Genuine John Deere Product
The grease gun is working well. 2 months in will NO LEAKAGE. So far it has been great. Mine is a genuine John Deere, mine came in genuine John Deere packing. The instructions are simple, but adequate, except for the coupler described below. If you have used these before you will have no issues, if you have not: YouTube. One exception, the nozzle end is extremely tight and will not come off the fitting as shipped. What you will find, the nozzle has a steel hex fitting, with a stamped steel end cap that has a noryl (texture). These two pieces are separate and thread together. The amount it is threaded on sets the tension of the jaws. This part is shipped with this adjustment completely closed and torqued. You will need to break this loose and then adjust accordingly. I found mine had to be extremely loose to allow it be removed, but you will have to adjust it once you have it locked on the zerk to seal properly then adjust it again to release it.Based on all of the hassle described above, I did buy a LockNLube from Amazon. It works much better. In closing, the grease gun a great product, everything on the gun works great, no complaints. Except for the coupler, which does not seam to work as well as others I have used, though it could be user error.

Everything is Green!
Recently purchased a riding tractor used so I bought this grease gun to tune everything up. This thing is larger than I had anticipated with lots of knobs and moving parts, but with the help of the included instructions I was able to successfully assemble and use the gun. It has good weight, doesn't feel cheap and worked great. I have noticed when removing the hose from the nipple you need to almost pry it for the connector to release; pulling straight off like trying to pull out a wall plug was impressively difficult. Make sure you get all the air out before using! Would buy again.

Do not buy this grease gun
John Deere makes some quality machines but this is not one of them. As someone who uses similar grease guns on a fairly regular basis for work, I can say with confidence that this is one of the worst grease guns ever made. While using the grease that is recommended by John Deere for my lawn mower (John Deere brand Polyurea SD), the gun stopped working several times. Upon further investigation I noticed there was an air pocket building up under the pump inlet. The main spring either isnt strong enough, or the seal is too large for the grease cartridge, as the seal kept getting stuck in the tube and wasn’t providing the necessary pressure to keep grease flowing. On top of that, the pump return spring is also too weak, or the seal is poorly fitted, as the pump handle doesn’t return to the original position after every squeeze. This issue may reslove itself as the seals wear and air gets worked out but I have never had this many issues with any other brand new grease gun.

Good Product
If you dont know now to properly grease a product, might be a bit clumsy... but after 5 minutes - you should be fine. Good for veteran or newbie, gun seems to be a well fab'ed, been using it on my 100 series JS tractor. Would recommend.
