I looked at quite a few sets as competition is pretty strong but I decided NOT to get any set that had the caterpillars coming with the set. It is best to select the date you want them shipped so you can have continuity with the project depending when the kids would be available. Other kits did not have the prepaid voucher so then you had to go look for caterpillars. This was easy. I just went online, put in my voucher code and they were sent off. This gift set was complete and had ssome extras the others didn't have either so I am extremely pleased with my choice and so was my granddaughter.

Everything went as expected. From the shipping of the caterpillars to the timing of the release. They sent us emails are correct intervals to help us know what stage we're at and what we needed to do for our caterpillars/butterflies. Our daughter really enjoyed watching them grow and change. It kept her engaged throughout the process. We would definitely recommend this kit and we'll likely order more caterpillars soon so we can experience their growth and change again.

First of all, be aware that this comes in a plain brown box, not the green and white box shown in the photo. The inside of the box is the same, but they shouldn't call this a "gift set" unless it looks decent when the recipient tears off the wrapping paper. Very misleading. Also, the net/cage is only 8 inches in diameter. I bought this set maybe 5 years ago, and it was 10 or 12 inches in diameter, much more appropriate for the butterflies to have room to do their thing. The net has been redesigned to look nicer but at the expense of functionality. Boo.

We purchased this for out kindergarten granddaughter. The kit arrived on time with great instructions. We ordered the caterpillars according to instructions on the web site. They arrived on time. All went well and we were able to watch out granddaughter free all the butterflies. Great product and service.

I bought this as a gift for a 5 year old's birthday. Its been so much fun for her to watch the caterpillars grow and a great learning experience. It's so helpful that this set also included a prepaid voucher for the caterpillars since this was a gift. Highly recommend!

Bought this for my son’s sixth birthday. The caterpillars were easy to order and arrived in three days. We have enjoyed watching them transform into butterflies!

Packaging was not as expected, but the rest is exactly what I ordered! Just waiting for the right time to order the caterpillars. I ended up going with this kit just because it has a Caterpillar voucher instead of coming with live caterpillars since there isn't much time from when you get the caterpillars to when they turn in to cocoons, and it was a present for my son's birthday.
