I recently built a swim platform for my boat and wanted to cover the fiberglass gel coat with one of those cushioned nonslip flooring materials. The problem is I have a number of fasteners protruding from the top of the platform which hold it to the brackets below. My choice was to just cover the fastener heads with the flooring which would make them inaccessible (and leave a void were the flooring could eventually lift) or cut them out. The better choice in my mind was to cut them out but how do you make a perfectly round hole in a cushioned flooring material so that it looks good? I had contemplated using various sized hole saws and gently trying to drill them out until I happened across these circle cutters. These things worked perfectly. I placed the flooring on a piece of plywood, traced the fastener locations on the flooring, and then proceeded to use the circle cutters to make the holes. To insure that I didn't damage the cutters I put a block of wood on the top of the cutter and struck it with a mallet. Besides protecting the cutter the block of wood distributed the mallet hit more equally across the cutter. All it took was a couple blows and I was left with a perfect hole. I had a couple people ask were I got this mat made for me and were shocked when I told them I made it myself and inquired how I could make such perfectly aligned holes.

Excellent product for the money! I've tried several different types of these cutting dies for my leather work, and usually over time, I have to replace them because of wear and tear. After so many cuts they're just not as sharp and get a little wonky and no longer a round circle. In my experience they all are pretty much the same quality, just branded under a different company name. But what sets this particular set of cutting dies from the others... Is all the little extras you get with it... The presentation when opening my package was great. The little cutting mat that it comes with, perfect! The description shows a plastic carrying case container, but mine actually came with a small tin container to keep the dies in and safe from damage... Awesome upgrade! The dies itself, are pretty much just like the others, no better, no worse IMO. But I'm overall, satisfied with my purchase... They get the job done, and come with little extras that I can actually use... Even after I replace them overtime... I can use the small tin for some hardware... I will definitely be purchasing again, and I highly recommend giving it a try...

I bought this to cut dense foam. They work great, but the rubber cutting pad should be thicker. After several cuts it's pretty much wore out. Otherwise it would've received 5 stars.

Good selection of sizes Very sharp and strong

Really good quality tool, feels solid and precise. Packaging was neat and everything arrived in perfect condition. Not overly oiled, just right. The mini cutting mat included is also very useful. Overall, excellent set.

Poor quality. Had difficulty cutting felt. Die must be hand held and hit many times before cutting through the material. Unfortunately, the die walls are not tall enough to prevent the user from also hitting the fingers holding the die.

If you are drilling more than one hole these will take a while. I had to rig up an air blower on my drill press and make several reliefs pulling the out the bit to clear sawdust because it has no groove where it could go. Got my project done but took a long time to drill 24 holes.

I use these in my Tandy Pro press that has a special foot attachment for pressing out small steel rule dies. Makes an incredibly clean and precise circle every time. It comes with a cute little self-healing mat that makes an excellent punching surface, and prevents the blades on the dies from dulling during use. I just wish that they came in more sizes. I was able to find another fender to get the larger sizes I needed, but this package was an excellent starting point.

These cutters are exactly as described and are working great for my projects.

I used this product to upgrade a set of plastic chess pieces. Cut circles of fabric out with leather cutting tools; took off the original cheap thin fabric that was on the pieces; filled the hollow center with a combination of lead BB shot and hot glue; then applied the new felt bottoms. Doubled the weight of the pieces. Perfect. A little time and effort but much cheaper than buying a weighted set. The cutters were accurate and sharp. Everything came well packaged. I could cut the felt with only my hand pressing down on them, but a quick hit with a mallet was much easier and faster. I just wish the included cutting matt fit in the plastic storage container for the cutters. But the little cardboard box it all came works fine.

This would be best suited for light weight leather. It does not work for what I needed... 7-10 oz leather and I need to punch 5000. I didnt even get the first one punched and had to use a knife to finish

Have used only a couple of times to punch out felt fabric pieces. Worked well with clean edges.
