What do you have to lose for 11 bucks?
Filters are a hard sell these days, what with all the great photos being taken with phone cameras whose lens is protected by only denim fabric and someone's butt. I'm beginning to believe we might all have been a little anal all those years believing you needed a UV filter for lens protection. But hey, this filter set is only a little over 11 bucks. My eight-year-old granddaughter is interested in photography, and the UV filter included in this set does prevent me from having to clean fingerprints off the lens every time she handles my camera. So I guess that's worth the pro-rated $3.75 that that filter cost. However, since it's a lot quicker to adjust the effective ISO on my camera than it is to screw the ND filter on, I'm not sure I'll ever have a need to use the ND filter, so that's probably a waste of $3.75.I've watched videos from professional photographers who claim you don't even need a polarizing filter, their contentions ranging from stating that polarizers don't reflect (pun?) reality because they eliminate reflections that are in the original scene, to pointing out that you can reproduce some of the polarizing filter's actions by combining continuous shots and post-production techniques. To each his own; I like clear water and clouds that jump out at you, and I contend that any post-production technique by definition alters the original scene. And it' s more work than screwing a polarizing filter on.

The CPL filter is excellent and it does remove the reflection from glass windows ...
I was not expecting any miracles from this set, considering the price I was paying for. However it partially surprised me. I needed the UV filter which perfectly screwed on to my Panasonic FZ 1000. I think this is must for amateur use as you end up giving the camera to your family and children to take your photos and then end up touching the lens. Also using the camera in beaches sprays water on the lens and with the filter you simply need not worry. The CPL filter is excellent and it does remove the reflection from glass windows and water perfectly and almost completely. Top class. I am yet to experiment the effect on blue skies though. However I was disappointed with the ND 8 filter and using it hardly made any difference - it is not stopping any light so as to use the camera for slow shutter speeds. the CPL & ND filter gives a small sand effect while screwing on, though finally it fits perfectly.I did some further testing on the ND8 filter and found that it is also very good. I took some pictures of water falls and in reasonable light, was able to take a full 8 seconds exposure at ISO 80, F 8 on my panasonic FZ1000 which really blurred the water.

Do not recommend
I attempted to use these with a few different lenses. They were not a good clarity. Photos that would have been perfectly fine without them were slightly blurry with them. It was a very unfortunate application and I did not like them at all for my work.

Tremendous bargain for top rate camera lens filters.
This is an incredible bargain. My camera maker wanted $50 for the same filters. If you have never used a UV or polarizing filter, they are fantastic. They help when taking pictures on or near the water or snow, and the polarizing filter turns the sky a deep blue without negatively impacting the picture. I leave the UV filter on all the time to protect the lens, the lens shade and cap just fit right over it. It makes the colors a bit richer.

Great for the Price
Ok so I know that buying cheap filters is not recomended. However, I am on a limited budget and cannot afford to spend $100 for just a single filter right now. You cannot go wrong with Vivitar series 1 products. The filters are made well and do the job they are intended for. They come in a nice padded case that keeps them protected when not in use. The MAIN reason I chose this set was because I wanted to experiment with the ND filter. With it being a ND8 it is a great deal. It DOES indeed stop the f stop down 3 times as it should. Works perfect for my vintage manual lenses for outside work. Excellent Value. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good filters.

Good Lens filters for my Camcorder
Delivery was earlier than I had expected, with excellent packaging. My camcorder by itself reqrired 52mm lens filters, after adding a Telephoto 2.2x Lens and Wide Angle Lens 0.43x, though they fit perfectly on the camcorder, both required 62mm filters, something to be aware of, when adding additional lens to your camcorder kit. I also added a fish eye lens from the same maker, in my case, this fish eye lens was not designed to except any filters. Living in the midwest, with snow everywhere much of the winter, filters are a necessity, especially the CPL and UV.

Best combo
I have different size lenses and normally i try to purchase a set of filters for each size, but until this set i had not found one that included a ND filter. They fit well and now my lens is protected, plus i can also play more with more options like the ND and CPL filters. So far no distortion but i need to take more pictures under different conditions.

Nice, utilitarian filter set that won't break the bank
Nice, utilitarian filter set that won't break the bank! These are filters you can actually use, without worrying about banging one up. And when you do scratch or break one, you're not out $100+ for a replacement.

Good filter for budget
I did a compare with my expensive filter with these budget filter:UV Filter : Vivitar Series 1 vs B+W XR-Pro Digital - It can't compare as B+W is way better and sharp....This series 1 for sure will decrease the quality of the picture....You even can see it through the lens your bare eyes....not recommend to use.ND8 Filter : Vivitar Series 1 vs Kenko Slim ND8 & Zeta ND8 - Both Kenko & Zeta can remain the sharpness even darker....This Vivitar Series 1 ND8 - same quality as thier UV filter - it deduce the sharpness....plus the color coat seems lighter than other brand.... But I use it for video.....5 sec of footage - you will not notice it....but if photo it might be shown.Polarizer Filter : Vivitar Series 1 vs Kenko Pro 1 Digital Wideband Circular PL (W) - I'm so surprise this Vivitar Series 1 Polarizer is sharper than my Kenko Pro 1. It is a steal. But also the color coat seems lighter than other brand.I hope my review help for anyone who make decision to buy it or not......it is very depends on what your expectation and what you need it for.For me - I'm ok for the price....I won't use their UV filter anyway, ND8 for Video - few sec of footage will not notice but can do the job to use big aperture in sunny day. Polarizer is a steal - very sharp.

I am sure these would have been great, but I ended up returning them because they were the wrong size for my lens! Oops.
