USB C Magnetic Adapter 240W, 2 Pack, 24 Pin Straight USBC 4 40Gbps 8K 60Hz

My current laptop only has one usbc port that I also use for power, so it is a heavily used port. So I was concerned that I would wear out this single port and if it breaks, I lose both the usbc port for faster data transfer and to power the laptop. I have used this almost daily for the past 2 months, and it works great. The usbc plug stays firmly in the laptop usbc port and has never come off by accident. The magnetic side of the plug stays with the cord 100% of the time. Connecting to the cord to the laptop is now very easy. Once connected it has stayed on without issues. It does come off with small resistance, so it is easy for the cord to come off if the cord gets tugged. This is a good thing. If for some reason a dog ran past you and pulled the cord, the laptop will not fall of the table.

I actually really like these connectors, but I had to stop using it. I found the magnet to be acceptable as well as the charging and data capabilities. My only issue which I didn't think about was what happens when it goes to work with me. If you work with, in, or around metal, BE AWARE. The phone port is somewhat magnetic too. I first noticed that the connection was less solid than before and then tonight my phone fired off the alarm that it detected water or debris in my charging port. Under magnification I can definitely see tiny, shiny objects down inside. No doubt picked up at my workplace and from my pocket. Nice product though. Just not compatible with certain environments.

Got this because of the USB-C charging port wearing out in my last three phones. My last was a Samsung Galaxy A51, and the charging port got to the point I had to play with the cable a lot just to get it to charge, like the port widened or something and wouldn't hold the charging cable well enough. So thought to try something like this with my new phone and it works well so far. I leave the insert end in the phone 24/7 and when attaching the other end, the magnet pulls it on just fine, but I do have to press firmly to get the little male end in fully and you can feel it go in. Working well after several weeks using it this way.

For what it is, it's fine. But if your cable is even somewhat stiff or if you're trying to use this with the host device in your pocket, the magnet is far too weak and breaks off far too easily. I wish I could give half-stars. 3.5 feels right. This isn't so much a technically flawed product as one that just isn't strong enough, and the oblong design makes this somewhat worse.

I wish the magnet was a little bit stronger. It comes unattached a little too easy. Perhaps a right angle version would be better. Certainly your computer or phone is not going to hit the floor if someone pulls the cord.

These work amazingly! I can confirm it works charging a laptop using a dock and it still outputs to all of the connected peripherals. I’ve noticed other magnetic adapters are hit and mostly miss with this feature. I don’t have to worry about my kids breaking usb cables anymore either!

Great little adapter that does exactly what I wanted it to, connecting the USB-C cable from my Hub to my laptop. Other adapters I had purchased only would provide power, but this adapter provides complete support for the two additional monitors connected via Display Port, an Ethernet connection, and any usb accessories I plug into the Hub, in addition to power. Highly recommended!

Does the job, but the magnet, even if it is strong, can easily disconnect with slight force.
