No, it does not come with a base.

This lantern comes with a base?

No it does not. I have used the lantern a number of times since my purchase of it last year and I always hang the lantern when using it, so the lack of a base has never been an issue for me.

I have an old Montgomery Ward lantern with a broken globe --- would some measure the height and diameter on their globe?

The outside diameter is 3 3/32" the height is 3 1/8" and the glass thickness is 3/32"
