Best for newborns
Best for newborns. Short Velcro so I will use these as an early first week collar since they seem easier to break away.Newborn puppies seem too delicate to put collars on that have Velcro the full length. The records were very helpful.

The only way to tell my eight rescued black kittens apart!
For reasons I never will understand, people where I live don’t adopt black kittens, cats, puppies, or dogs as often as they do pets of other colors. While I love animals of every shape, size, and color, I have a special love for the underdogs (and undercats in this case!) so when even the wonderful rescue organization here had no room for eight, skinny, sniffling, solid-black abandoned kittens, I took them home to try to get them healthy. (While this may inspire “crazy-cat lady” comments, I certainly am not as crazy as some of the politicians in Washington although I may be if I don’t finish my dissertation soon!) The biggest problem at first was telling them apart, as all eight were solid black, with four males and four females. After a day of moving them from pen to pen as I medicated them, I found these soft little collars! The Velcro(R) was perfect to fit them to the kittens’ tiny necks and the variety of colors made it easy to tell the kittens apart finally! Despite all the playing the kittens did later, these didn’t fall off although they would stretch enough to come over a kitten’s head if he or she become entangled, I believe. The vet’s office was so glad for these collars, too, since they didn’t want to mix the kittens up when they were fixed and vaccinated. I’m so glad I found these—and so glad I had the joy of rescuing those eight black kittens! For the record, sibling kittens and cats don’t fight, are very loving toward each other, and entertain each other—and their people! Black cats have that gorgeous, mysterious elegance; they almost always have sweet personalities; and their black hairs don’t show up as much on furniture or clothes as light-colored hairs do, especially if you wear black so you can look as elegant as your cat! Many cultures regard black cats as good luck, and they have been for me although not so much for the occasional mouse that makes its way into my 100-year-old house in the country. To borrow from Groucho Marx, if a black cat crosses your path, all it means is that the cat is going somewhere! :)

Great ID collar for puppies. Quality kit.
The media could not be loaded. These collars and data cards would get a solid 5 if they had a way to attach the long end when the puppies are first born. They are nice and soft, washable, however are showing a little wear at 3 weeks. I'm hoping they make it to 8 weeks!

This is a great idea but poor quality
This is a great idea but is poor quality. I have 6 black pups that have no identifying markings other than the collars. For this product to work and be effective the collars have to stay on until the pups go to their new home (6 - 8 weeks). Unfortunately, after 2 or 3 weeks the collars would not stay on and I had to devise another way to identify individual pups. I give this product 1 star only because 0 is not available. This is a good idea but I strongly recommend purchasing another product.

Good but dont last
Seems great. Bought them bc they were soft and seemingly perfect for the pups. However they got dirty very quickly and started to fall off. Good thing we could tell which pup was which when it started happening. They are 3 weeks old and new collars are needed. I will be buying either silicon or nylon collars instead.

Affordable, recommend, will buy again
We used these for our freshly born doberman puppies to tell them apart. They wore them from days old to 2 weeks. Material is soft, they didnt cause irritation, they stayed on without losing their grip. They were perfect for the use we got. Very affordable! Probably wont be able to resuse this batch for the next time around, but for the cost that doesnt really matter to me. I would recommend and buy this product again.

I like the charts, but don't love the collars
Used the 12 pack for a new litter of puppies but the light colors: pink and white, became soiled and in just a few days, I couldn't tell which colors were which, so I had to write on them in sharpie. Then they started pulling off and all my records were lost. Bought paracord collars and have had no more problems.

Must have soft collar
When my dog had her first litter of 12 puppies I knew I needed a way to tell the puppies apart to keep track of their weight and make sure all were gaining weight. I first attempted to make my own which did not go so well. Then I find these! They are really soft, and work great. They are long and since I was not comfortable having them hang out or wrap around more then once I trimmed them so I will be buying more. The charts are a nice addition and heavy duty.
