These brilliant solid modelling spheres can be used for an endless variety of fun crafts and demonstration models for education. This handy jar, filled with spheres and wooden rods is ideal for school classroom projects such as solar system models. The wooden rods have flat ends to avoid sharp points and are easy to trim to size and push into the spheres to allow models to be constructed and children can paint and/or decorate them as they wish. The balls can be coloured using standard PVA craft glue mixed with food colouring and diluted to acheive the correct viscosity and left to dry. The mixed set of spheres can also be used as supporting frameworks or armatures for air drying clay, paper, papier mache, Decopatch, Play Doh, plasticine, Sculpy or Das and most other popular modelling doughs. The solid spheres are easy to cut making them ideal for 3D animations as well as being useful for class work to demonstrate the planets, molecules and biology topics such as an eyeball model. They can be used to demonstrate parts of a circle, whole, half and quarter and illustrate size relationships. Studded with a drawing pin they can show magnetic attraction / repulsion ~ perfect for use with our mini magnetic wands for making your own magnetic table top football game. The solid spheres in plain, white polystyrene are supplied in a selection of diameters. The 170 piece set includes 70 spheres sized 2cm, 3cm, 4cm, 5cm, 6cm and 7cm and 100 x 20cm long wooden rods, all supplied in a practical, re-usable, clear storage jar with integral carry handle and screw top lid. As with all craft projects, adult supervision is recommended. Please note all measurements are approximate. Ages: 3+
