Best Review Manual for PE MDM
This textbook was incredible! It provides a very comprehensive review of all of the concepts on the PE MDM exam. It covers the perfect amount of material per topic without wasting time on too many confusing details. The author did a wonderful job condensing the material and simplifying the concepts.I took the FE when I graduated 5 years ago so I was pretty rusty when I began studying for the PE. When I opened the NCEES practice exam I knew I was going to have a lot of issues studying independently. It took me about 4-5 weeks to complete this textbook and afterwards I felt very confident when working the NCEES practice test.I still had to sign up for the Kaplan review course on PPI so I could work practice problems and take another full length practice exam. However, this textbook greatly sped up my review and I am happy to say I passed my exam thanks to Dr. Kennedy!

An outstanding BOOK.
I have passed my PE exam lately on 11/16/22, I recommend this book for everyone is taking the MDM PE exam. However, this book is missing the section for "Power Screws" .. the Lead (L) = n x P and the Lamda, this is a crucial part that so many problems may exist in the exam.Hope the author modifies this issue later on.Good effort by the way.

Great book for refresher and understanding problem types
This book will help you pass the PE for MDM. Dr. Kennedy goes thoroughly through problems and provides explanation and details on to why he is doing the steps. The book was a great refresher on all the main topics covered on the PE MDM exam. I read through this book in its entirety a month before my exam and used this knowledge towards the practice exam and preformed very well. I was able to pass my PE exam on the first attempt and I owe it greatly to this book.P.S. Dr Kennedy responds promptly to emails regarding questions in the book and gave me a great explanation on a topic that I was stuck on, he is someone you can rely on in your studies.

Difficulties of this book is close to the exam I took in March 2022.
I passed the PE exam on the first attempt. The difficulties of this book is very close to the actual PE exam I took in March 2022. This book also helped me reviewed most of the concepts. Spent about six weeks and with the average of 20 hours per week, I mainly used four books for the preparation. The books are:1. this book,2. Mechanical Engineering Reference Manual for PE exam, Edition 13, which was purchased in 2013.3. PE Practice Exam from NCEES. This is also very similar to the difficulties of the exam.4. pe-mec-handbook-1-4.pdf, the handbook downloaded from NCEES, which is the only reference during the exam. (I think 1-5 will be used starting 4/1/22.)

The best book I found to pass the Machine Design and Materials PE exam
This book covers a whole range of the most likely topics that you'll see on the PE exam, in a format that is easy to understand and execute when you're panicking. I ended up using this book for about 70% of the exam questions, with a copy of Shigley's to fill in on some of the more complicated problems. When you first open this book, you're going to be unimpressed. Most of the sketches are done by hand, and the whole thing feels cheap. I had to preemptively duct tape the cover because you could tell that it was going to tear without much use. But it's a small issue because the contents are great.I passed the exam on the first try. It's only $30, so you should quit being a cheapskate and just buy the thing.

Quick, high level, comprehensive, effective
I'm going to give it 5 stars but know its not perfect. Still this is probably the most high level, yet still comprehensive review of the material to prepare you for the PE exam. I bought this book, read it cover to cover, and used it to help me solve the problems in the practice test. I also bought the FE reference manual and a very old edition of Mark's handbook. I was able to pass the matls and machine design exam on my first try. I'm 11 years out of school and consider myself a VERY good test taker. If you don;t have a lot of time and will be cramming a couple weeks before the exam you will get much more out of this book than the thicker, more expensive review manuals. It covers the breath of the exam but maybe not the depth.

Completely Useless
This book is a joke!It lacks substance. It only covers very basic topics and even for them, it doesn't cover much beyond what the Handbook already has. Although it was cheap, it was a total waste of money.
