wont fit some people not wearing gun belt
4 years & canoe / walking & survival week trips & it's held up wellI compared it to the army one & it's a lot thinner but hasn't failed me...the problem is I'm 5ft7 & even after having a military paratrooper on one course adjust it for me I still find after one mile walking my back hurts...he said it's a day sack & meant to rest on a gun belt so despite the waist band it doesn't sit on your hips right...its military not bushcraft gear...designed to go with military kit...So it's fine but at this price it's not the real deal as 2 military guys both had thicker material ones but same design...th material is tough enough though it was stabbed once by an instructor but other than that it's got no sign of wearing out. It's just a shame I have been told by multiple military personnel that it's the wrong bag for me & it wasn't cheap. So I'm here writing a review & I'll have to get a different bag as you next trip involves walking more than a mile...I'm fit young & im an engineer so I'm not just a softie that can't carry a backpack.i like the bag but can't use it however it's adjusted.

Good pack....but it absolutely needs a gun belt.
It absolutely needs to be worn with a gun belt regardless of height. The difference is night and day when worn with a gunbelt.I'm 5'7 and one of the things I really like about the rocketpak is that the waistband is thin enough to slide into a gun belt - it is a short back pack so for taller folks I'd recommend letting it sit on top of the belt rather than feed it through - either way there is no getting round the requirement for an additional gun belt if you want to do serious hiking with this.As far as quality goes I'd feel more confident if it was double stitched.Account for the gunbelt an extra £20-30 before deciding if its value for money.

Rocket Pak nice and green.
A good medium sized replacement for my large Crusader Bergen (getting on a bit and so not going as far). It is important to get the adjustment right as I am 5ft 8 so just fine but 6 footers may struggle? If anything a few to many straps for pockets but well built medium weight, comfortable bag & a back shape that fits very well. The rain cover is huge and in 40 litre mode without pockets nice storage for bottles and in 70 litre mode big enough for most hikers. So if you are hiking a few days a great buy.

Snug it is not
Have worn this one time over the weekend and the chest strap has come completely off and the padding isn't great on the shoulders, my ancient Higlander Nevis 88 that Is a hand me down has better shoulder padding and waist padding, would expect better from Snugpak at this price
