Sync Mod XR Standing on business
Everything works perfectly, easy as pie to install. Good range, so far everything that was needed, Blink has covered. It really is a shocker to see a company standing on business and setting the standard.

Offers extended range beyond WiFi for my Outdoor 4 camera
The Blink Sync Modules are control hubs for the cameras and doorbells in your Blink camera system. For customers without a subscription, they are capable of providing local storage when a compatible memory device is added. The Sync Module XR is Blink's 3rd generation hub, offering the same functionality as the Sync Module 2 but using MicroSD storage and a USB-C power connector instead of the older USB-A thumb drive and micro power connector. It is slightly larger than the older model, but there is no USB thumb drive sticking out, and the overall look is sleeker with an all-white body. The operational change over the previous model is the addition of the Extended Range (XR) mode that works with Blink's Outdoor 4 cameras. My installation spans two residences and includes a mix of Blink doorbells, Mini, Mini 2, wired floodlight and Outdoor 4 cameras. In all cases, my 19 cameras were within strong WiFi range of my routers. I've had no problems with connectivity with any of the cameras or Sync Module 2's. When the Sync Module XR was announced (previously called the Sync Module Pro) I became very interested in its ability to connect with Outdoor 4 cameras beyond WiFi range. Would it allow me to position a camera further out on my property, facing the house? To find out, I purchased the XR and another Outdoor 4 camera. I mounted the camera to the bottom of my mailbox, about 120 feet from the Sync Module XR. Setup screen clearly shows that the WiFi signal is too weak for a reliable connection. But in the XR mode, I get a full signal. It's nice to have a broader perspective view of my yard and driveway. The Sync Module XR does limit the number of cameras connected in the XR mode to two. For cameras in the WiFi mode, you can have up to 10--same as the other Sync Modules. The website also mentions that you are limited to 2 Sync Module XRs per account but no limit to the older models. This could be a consideration if you are planning a more extensive system like mine. Like the Sync Module 2, you must remove the drive to access the clip files stored on the drive either as primary or backup. I find it easier to remove a thumb drive than a MicroSD card, so this may be a consideration in choosing which model to purchase.Bottom line is that the Blink Sync modules are required if you are using the Battery powered cameras giving them up to 2 year battery life with default settings. Either model will work well, but the XR has the ability to greatly extend the range for up to 2 Outdoor 4 cameras.

"The Testing Phase"
Review #1 - Date 11/10/2024 - "The Testing Phase": ----- Meaning I just got this & 1 of many New Gen 4 Outdoor Cameras. I have a huge Blink Camera System that consists of "8" Sync Modules (Including this one). So I have 8 Camera Zones that have a total of "23" Blink Cameras. All up and running seamlessly with usually no Drops or Offline Cameras. I do this so I can have some ARMED ALL THE TIME & Others ARMED ONLY When I Need Them, they are Inside & Outside of my house.. A Couple are EXTRA ZONES with extra cameras so they can be moved them around as or if needed. ----- I got this All-new Blink Sync Module XR — System Hub to see if it really works as they (Blink) say it dose. I am hopping it dose Because I would like a couple of Cameras Out Further from My House so I can See more of my land & A couple looking Back Towards My House. All my cameras are always plugged in and waiting or watching. I set up this All-new Blink Sync Module XR — System hub & I will Give it 4 Stars for now because I did just set it up and put a The Gen 4 Outdoor Camera (That came as a bundle) about 125' from the Sync Module, it was in my basement and had to go through 2 inside walls, 1 outside wall then out to the end of my fence. It worked the very first time. Not with great connections but it was more responsive than some of my other Cameras including Gen 4 Cameras that are closer & they all have 100% connection to there Sync Module 2 & Router. I will move the Sync Module Hub around my house hook it to a closer router ( I have 3). I will also PLUG the Gen 4 Camera in to a power supply (AS ARE ALL MY CAMERAS) & remove the batteries. I have noticed that ALL MY CAMERAS work better with a constant power supply. Blink Cameras are GREAT. I Love them & find them very dependable and at a very decent price when they are on sale. ----- I will update this review after a few weeks of testing.

Does work at distance
Actually does work at distance. I installed an Outdoor 4 and this new long range Sync Module. Put the camera out on the dock 260 feet away from the house and it works. I have the Sync Module on a table next to a window nearest the dock and I am using XR+ mode as XR did not connect. I get nice video quality but I cannot send audio to camera to scare away birds. I feel that I probably could get XR to work if I went through the set up process again since I learned a bit more about the system since I failed to make XR work.
