Was skeptical, but has worked well.
So I was going to go on a deployment, however, I did not want to spend nearly 1k on one of these things and wanted to get 5 G access, hence me buying this refurbished one. I thought, worst case was that I just returned it. It was annoying to set up, had to look up the manual and set it from nrbroadband to broadband, but once I did, I could swap my SIM card from my phone to this and get wifi consistently. Some thingremember mind that the speed relies heavily on your data plan and LOS to cell towers. If your phone can get a good signal, likely this will too. Currently, I have to keep mine near a window, and I consistently reach 100 Mbps. I've used it to download AND play games, even FPS games. This solution is only for non-permanent wifi necessities while you're moving around. For me, I would have had to buy barracks wifi to get internet or refill hotspot data again and again. This is a great solution for that. I would not use this in place of something like Starlink, cabled internet, or even wifi from buildings (unless bad, like where I am writing this.) This works best if you are: Traveling (1 week to a few months) Have a good Dataplan Need a consistent and reliable internet will be in places with good cell reception The device itself was fine, I had no issues with it. Though with these being refurbished, your results may vary.

Absolute piece of crap
I should have known better than to buy refurbished electronic equipment. I learned this lesson years ago, but I guess my memory lessened the experience over time. I remember oh so well now. The charger that came with it won't run the device without the battery in it. Tried a different charger and it would cycle on and off. Next the SIM card was hard to install. After watching video I got it in - no signal. Checked the net and they said sim card had to installed just right to make it work. Since the charger doesn't work this meant removing battery, moving the card a bit and then reinstalling battery. Each time 5 minute time for device to boot up. After 30 minutes of this I realized - this is a complete piece of crap. Back in the box and off to Amazon it goes. DON'T PURCHASE!!! There is a reason this is so heavily discounted and not worth it even at that price.

So far so good.
The device came in retail packaging. It powered up OK but the interface was in Spanish at first. It's confusing because you can't change the language in the menus. You have to go into the settings to Factory Reset. As it restarts it gives you the option to switch to English. The Samsung power adapter that was included works as expected. It switches from 5V to 9V. A regular 5V adapter might not work since it seems to need 9V for the high power mode (2.5G Ethernet, WiFi 6, and extended WiFi range). Some reviewers complain that it needs to restart when you change modes. This is normal for this type of device. It only takes about a minute to restart. Also, you need to take out the battery for the high power mode. I think it gets too hot in that mode and the battery can get damaged. I'm hoping this things lasts. I got the extended warranty just in case. Mine is labeled AT&T but hopefully it's unlocked since I want to use T Mobile. I'll find out tomorrow. The WiFi range isn't the best, but for such a tiny device it's not bad. I'll just be using it for my office and as a backup for livestreaming. The range would likely be better with antennas. I'm happy I was able to get this device for such a low price. Such a great deal. No other device has all the features of this one, but $999 is to much to pay for a new one.

Dependable
Extremely useful and reliable. I've had it a few months and it works very well. I even took a SIM card from a Franklin Jextream (T-Mobile) and put it in the M6 and it worked fine. The battery did overheat and I currently run it from plugged in, which runs great. I recommend it but NOT at full price. Use an Amazon seller who has it in excellent refurbished condition or Ebay with a TRUSTED seller

Good deal so far.
It works as good as hot spotting my Iphone. But the ATT signal at my house isn't great. I leave mine plugged in all the time, with the battery out. That is the only way I get a strong enough signal to work the way I want. I leave the cover off and have a small cooling fan going on it all the time. I also have an external antenna hooked up to it all the time. If I don't do all of this, it won't work. I also have to check on it every few days because I get spam messages to the phone number that goes to it. If I don't delete the messages or it won't work. When I purchased this, ATT didn't have a wireless router like they do now. That might work better than this, but I paid a lot for this and I am making it work. I have a lake place that has a better ATT signal and it works better out there. When I have a good ATT signal I can have 10 different wifi items hooked up. When the signal is not good, I have to go around and turn off Wifi on a few things, until I get enough signal to run what I want.

Crippled speeds, admin password doesn't work
I looked up to this thing since I was a kid (previous generations), so I thought going for the M6 Pro would be a smart move. Wrong. This thing is throttled big time on Tmobo with an inserted SIM. 50-70 MBPS max, even wired to the thing. 5G full bars and on a 5G UC phone, I get 500-700+ MBPS down in the area. It's clearly being throttled while being unlocked. You would have to hack into the firmware to get anything more and the last thing I need is system instability from hacks. Should work right out of the box. Admin pass also doesn't work and I can't try to configure anything else. Feels like typical carrier trash.
