ABN Universal Stud Bolt Extraction Remover, 3/8in Drive – 1/4 to 1/2in (6 to 12mm) Studs Metric & SAE Removal Tool

The task was to remove several studs on my engine. Since it is an old car from ‘87, a lot of them were rusty and super tight. I tried a bunch of different tools before this one. None of them worked. This extractor is actually strong and sturdy enough to tighten it with a 36mm and 24mm wrench. Some heat and penetration oil did the rest. I wished I had tried it before.

Unfortunately the tool is to big for the job I needed it for. So I was unable to test the durability aspect of it. What I like about it is the universal aspect of it, fits anything from 1/4 to 1/2 inch bolts. If you have room enough to get it on the bolt that is. And works with just about any drive tool, ratchet, pliers, wrench, etc.

I needed this to remove an m8 stud, which is larger than their specified minimum stud size of m6. It was not able to get small enough to tightly grip the stud. It seems like it would probably work for larger studs.

I was working on a truck in the field that broke a stud that was a 1/4" proud and my normal stud remover kept rounding off the stud. Since the mobile welder could not be out for three days I bought this to try to remove the broken stud. Once it grabbed the stud, it pulled it out no problem. That was in 2018 when I bought it. I have used it almost a hundred times since and as long as the broken stud is sticking out at least a 1/4" in will grab and remove it. The jaws are aggressive and will cause some damage to the stud or bolt so I always replace the studs, but it will save you time trying to remove a frozen stud or broken bolt. Also blow it out after each use with compressed air and lube. After the first time I lubed it it worked even better.

Works great to remove studs. I used it to remove exhaust studs out of my cylinder head. I did find that it was a little difficult to use while the head was still in the car. I ended up pulling the head and removing the studs out of the bay. Worked great!

This thing is awesome! I worked on and off for three days trying to remove a sheared off bolt that held my catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold. The shaft was exposed after I took the cat off but the remains of the bolt would not come off.I tried "P B. Blaster" for a day and a half. Repeated soakings with a few whacks of a dead blow did nothing.Reluctantly, [there was a good coating of motor oil on everything down low due to a loose filter. No I didn't put it in..] I went to my previous favorite method: a torch. Heat, quench - repeat. Nothing Ultimately I saw this thing in a YouTube video.It took the bolt out on the first try. I don't have recommended impact tools but I didn't nnd them with this beast.It's pretty big so it won't work everywhere but if there's space you need this tool.

The stud extractor fit and finish is very nice ...not used yet its winter....

Had to remove a crossmember stud and this product did the job. It's well made and wont let you down. I'm very pleased with this tool.
