Got this because it was recommended by a family member who knows what he’s talking about. It was super easy to install and works amazingly well. The screws were easy to use especially since we were replacing an existing smart lock. It fits the door very well, in fact better than the original lock on our door. Only a few small complaints. 1. It’s frustrating that to connect it to wifi to use remotely you have to buy another expensive component. While the cheaper one we replaced came with that feature out of the box (the design look use and hardware quality on that one was much worse so it’s obviously a trade off). I will likely buy the wifi component still, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. 2. When the battery is dying it’s honestly not immediately obvious. It seems to notify you with a different sound but if I’m honest it’s not clear. When the battery is low but not dead the touch screen seems VERY slow to respond and takes longer to open but the phone key and keypad still both work. With full battery the thing works fantasticly and the app and setup for guest codes is awesome. I love it, it was an upgrade for sure.

It was very troublesome to get the lock to pair. I had to try several times. App requires phone number to login. Why does Yale require my phone number? I am unwilling to share it, but if you want to use the lock, I guess you’re forced to. After a few months of use, I had to reset it. After that I tried to pair it again and it isn’t pairing anymore. I’m stuck with an unusable lock now

Setup process was too dumbed down too much, that it was kinda annoying. Yale app could be better, it was neither simple, nor intuitive. So what suppose to take 20 minutes, took about 40 minutes. But its ok, since its like a one time thing. Once you have everything set up, and added homekit it works flawlessly. Using an apple watch is convenient. And you can control everything with an apple homekit. *** 8 month update *** This has been the most convenient lock I have ever used. It's been flawless for me, didn't need to change the battery after 8 months. With that said I haven't used all the fancy features of the lock, i.e. auto-lock/open, wifi stuff(don't want wifi) and etc. My usage of it is placing my Apple Watch next to it to open, and pressing a button to close it, I no longer have any keys that I have to carry. I've tried opening the lock with my phone once, and it worked. I highly recommend the lock.

Overall, the lock itself looks great and feels solid. Setting up the lock is a little painful, but eventually (after several retries/resets) it'll work. The only issue that I have now is the lock calibration. It works well after calibration but when you use the app to lock/unlock it leaves it in a state where it doesn't fully lock and unlock. This causes the lock to not know that it's locked/unlocked so either you have to a) recalibrate or b) manually twist the lock to lock/unlock. I've contacted Yale and they've sent a replacement but still the same issue so I think this is a software issue. I hope they'll fix this in a software update but I don't have much confidence since I have not seen any software updates on my other Yale locks.

This is a great lock, especially if you’re an Apple user. Installation was easy to follow, I already had a lock installed, so all I had to do was remove the old lock and put the new one in. All the predrilled holes worked. Great looking lock, slick and the sounds it makes for lock and unlock are pleasant. I really like the HomeKit integration. You can use a key from your wallet to tap and unlock, or even use Siri to lock/unlock. Definitely happy with this purchase.

This block works pretty well all the time. Very little to complain of here. Only issue is that HomeKit sometimes misreads the lock as unlocked when it’s not. Easy to install. Attractive.

I'm leaving a one-star review because at this price point I should not call customer service 3 times, I should not pull my hair out for 2.5 hours. it was painful. first girl on the support kept insisting that I need apple hub in order to use the phone tap feature. 2nd one asked to restart the lock and redo everything without truly understanding my issue. 3rd guy did his best but then asked me to update from IOS 17.7 to 18 before he can submit the report. Basically what I was trying to do is to add this lock to two iPhone, two apple Home accounts. the other one is already running on IOS18, the other one is a full/owner user, and still can't add it. right this second, they do not have ability to do that. build quality is great, support is laughable. at this price point it's not a good deal.

Easy To Install, has great instructions, and works as intended. Apple integration is nice

It's a bit weird situation. Bought from Yale amazon shop, delivered to Lithuania, but can't use it, because it requires Yale Access app, which is not available outside US and Canada. Seems like a common issue, too bad I didn't check reviews.

Great lock. The only negative is the relatively short battery life if you get the WiFi option. Just make sure you download the Yale US app, as this lock was built for the US.

This product requires you to jump through hoops if you want to install it outside US/Canada and in the end it doesn’t even let you operate it (i think there is a geoblock or something through the US only app-vpn doesnt work) First it needs US only Yale Access app to install Then it needs US number It needs US IP Then after everything it still doesn’t work Avoid if you are importing this. Amazon please remove this product from the Australian store

La peor cerradura que he usado. El Apple Home Key deja de funcionar de la nada, en servicio al cliente no saben que es y no te ayudan en nada. Después de un tiempo deja de funcionar el teclado y solo la puedes abrir con la aplicación, tampoco saben en servicio al cliente que es lo que pasa y no te la quieren cambiar. Para que se “arregle” tienes que quitarle las baterías por horas para que cuando se las pongas vuelva a funcionar el Apple home key y el teclado, pero dura funcionando solo unos días. Unos 3-4 días después deja de funcionar y tienes que volver a quitar las baterías y hacer todo el proceso. Me cansé de hablar con servicio al cliente porque cada vez que les respondes por correo es una persona diferente la que te lee y como no sabe del tema ni del progreso vuelve a pedirte lo mismo que ya mandaste o hiciste 5 veces atrás con las otras personas.

Useless, doesn’t work in Australia, shouldn’t be on the Amazon.com.au site and sold by Yale. Not very happy
