Really well made and great value
I am a really big fan of Neewer products, always really well made and always significantly cheaper that the other manufacturers. This is a really great softbox, easy to set up and does a great job of diffusing your light. I am now using it with all of my portrait work and will be buying a second one to give me more lighting options. Highly recommended

Easy to open and quick collapse to pack away softbox with Grid.
Neewer 35 inch or 90cm quick release softbox with double delusion panels both with Velcro as well as a very well made honeycomb grid. Carry bag with a zipped fastener.I am an amateur photographer and I do own several size softboxes for my portrait and product photography. This Neewer softbox is very well made and seems to be very durable. It opens up in no time especially if you have experience. Basically you just grab ribs and pull them towards the mount till you hear a click sound. Once all the ribs are clicked in place, you tip it upside down and attach the inner delusion panel with Velcro fastener already attached to softbox and delusion panels. After that put outer diffusion panel for soft even light. If you want to control the spread of light coming out of the softbox then use the honeycomb grid. I have used this softbox with both grid and without one. For jewellery product shoot I didn't need the grid but for portraits as I had RGB Neewer Constant lights for backdrop, I needed the grid to control my strobe light from washing out the RGB light. I have uploaded few photos to share. It's mannequin for you I am afraid as I can't upload people's photos without permission.Neewer softbox worked great for me and I had lot of great photos with soft, defused and even spread of light using this softbox. I used Godox AD200 strobe, V1 and MS300 Strobe and I am very impressed with the quality of light. There is no colour shift nor any hotspots with delusion material used in this softbox. Bowen mount is the only mount I prefer in my lighting equipments. I have lots of different modifiers that I have bought over my 30 years of photography life and they all fit Bowen. After the photoshoot, I took of the delusion panels and there is a quick release tab on top of each rib that you press to collapse the softbox. It all fits nicely in the Carry bag for easy transport and storage.Overall a very well made 35" inches/ 90cm durable and easy to operate softbox with double delusion panels and honeycomb grid all fit in a zipped Carry bag for on location photography as well as home studio like mine. I am very happy to endorse 5 stars 🌟.

Well worth the slight hassle of setting it up!
This thing is quite big and needs a lot of space if using it indoors. It has a solid aluminium base plate that holds all the umbrella style spines firmly with a special locking mechanism on each spine. Each individual lock can be unlocked singly. It takes a fair bit of effort to get all the spines opened up, and I found the best way was to go round first, locking every other one in place, then finish with the rest. This helped to keep the whole thing balanced, as the material of the dome does move slightly on the spines. Once it is fully opened, it is time to attach a light source or a flash to the bowens mount. I have some "elinchrom" flash heads, and thought that I could attach one of those, but no deal, you'd need a special adaptor for that.I was saved by another Neewer device, which is called an S-type bracket holder with bowens mount. This installs straight onto the back of the umbrella and enabled me to mount a small high intensity LED COB light onto the holder. This light I found perfect for use with this, being dial-able in intensity to get just the right effect for portrait work. There are two white nylon(?) sheets which attach inside the dome, one goes halfway down and the other at the periphery. I substituted the (supplied) black grid (which also attaches by velcro) at the mouth of the umbrella to get an interesting light effect. Not having a model to hand I substituted a large Teddy to make a portrait to demonstrate this effect.ConclusionI like this a lot, and I think it will be very useful for doing portraits in the future, the only slight con is its physical size, although, of course it does fold down, it does take a minute or two to collapse it and set it up again, but on the whole, worthwhile, I think.

Great Octagonal Softbox
Very good quality Octagonal Softbox from Neewer made from good materials.Another great product from Neewer the octagonal softbox feels strong and durable and lightweight which is exactly what you want if you will be transporting this to different locations.I have put up this kind of softbox before so I am use to it BUT this is very easy to setup, just a case of pulling the rod at the bottom till you see the clip locks in place and repeat for each rod, then to close once finished pull the rod a little at the bottom and press the clip to release the lock and that is it. If it is your first time using this kind of softbox I will say the rods are stronger then you think BUT obviously don’t go crazy, once you do it a few times you will get the hang of it.Comes with an inner & outer diffuser which softens and spreads the light and a grid to control the direction of the light with no overflow also has a bag that can store everything which is a nice touch.Overall I am very happy with this octagonal softbox, I feel it is a bit overpriced but the quality makes it worth every penny. The octagonal softbox works and works very well you will not be disappointed
