Jasmine Rice

I was not disappointed when I first sampled this rice. The lovely fragrance of the rice alone when I opened the bag was worth every dime. It cooks beautifully in our rice cooker and retains that lovely, nutty flavor that's characteristic of jasmine rice. The texture is perfect, no mushiness, perfect amount of clinging. This is the exact rice that I remember eating in Thailand. Me and my hubby have already gone through half of it - and I will buy more as soon as we run out. Which will be soon!

Excellent price and great quality. Jasmine rice is the only type of rice that cooks up correctly for me every time (or almost every time, every once in a while my measurements are off and it turns out too firm or too mushy). Roland offers a great product; very little of the yucky white-starchy coating (the rice needs little rinsing), and makes delicious lightly fragrant rice. I use a 1 to 1 3/4 ratio (rice to water) which does the trick, without having to hold my breath that it will turn out right. No need for a rice cooker either. Jasmine flavor is very faint, so definitely not overpowering.

This isn't quite the standard use for rice, but my ferret absolutely loved this stuff. It's a great deal on product that just works - my ferret would dig through the rice for about an hour before he got tired. The rice absorbed a lot of smell, neutralizing it. It is sized perfectly so he never has issues with it getting in his mouth or nose, despite throwing his face in it.All in all, a great product with an unconventional use. The rice looked so appetizing that I was tempted to steal a bit away for me to eat!

Jasmine Rice is soooooooooooooooo good!It's also very hard to find this size in most retail stores.I love long grain rice and this rice is the king of rice.The price is also very good, a very small bag of this rice is very expensive when youpurchase it from a retail store.I purchase this through Amazons Subscribe and Save service and I have saved so muchmoney and unnecessary trips back and forth to the store through this service.You can have every day pantry supplies delivered monthly and save money andgas.Where has this service been all my life.............lol!!!!The rice was delivered fast and on time every month and always wellpackaged. I have never had to send anything back because it was damagedin transit.I highly recommend this Rice and Subscribe and Save service.

More like a very starchy short grain. If I could I would return.

Beneath this paragraphs is my original review. After cooking some batched of this rice I am taking a star off, and that is being generous. I am finding pieces of foreign matter in this rice. Not a lot, and mostly I don't see any, but today I found a little black piece of something in the rice. It looked like a piece of bark, or I don't know what, but it was 1/4 inch, small, but it did not belong there. That is the stuff I can see. Once you lose faith in something it's hard to see it the same.Also, as I unpack as use this rice I found that there was a large plastic bag inside the outer bag holding the rice. As if the rice came in this plastic bad or was distributed in it, but the bag was not inserted inside the outer bag and it was just floating inside the rice inside. I really do not care for this, and I am not really sure I should eat it.Also, when I used this rice I have to rinse it maybe 5 times before the water is clear and I know the rice is clean ... something I have to be careful about because of the first two subjects. It went from being average nothing special OK rice to rice I do not really know or feel is OK. I maybe just leave this as a big bag of emergency rice in case I run out and cannot find another bag of good rice.I am very disappointed in this. I have to rate this from about 1 - 1.5 stars out of 5. Nobody will pay attention to me if I rate it a 2. Spend the extra money and get the good rice.-- previous review --Got this order today. Opened it up and no problems. It is clean and white. A little smaller than most of the Jasmine rice I have had before. I read a few of the bad reviews and nothing like that was the case with my order. It is fine.HOWEVER, the rice is not fragrant as most of the Jasmine Rice I have had before is. I have bought many bags of Jasmine rice and used it for many years. This rice is different.First, as I mentioned it does not have that sweet pungent aroma of Jasmine Rice. Also I noticed when I went to cook it I have to wash it 4 complete times, and even after that the water was still a little bit cloudy. I don't know why that would be.It cooks up nice, and it is OK, but it has a blah taste. I have to rate this 3/5. It is acceptable, maybe for rice dishes and casseroles, that kind of thing, but for eating with a meal it is bland and tasteless. Again, not a bad taste, or in any way unacceptable. I just have to rate it a 3/5 because it is not bad, but not good either.I don't think I would buy this again, although the price was lower than some of the other brands out there during the Covid-19 pandemic where just in the last months my previous rice order went from around $20/20lbs to $30/20lbs. I thought I would see if I can save a little money because it feels like we customers are being ripped off.

I like eating rice as a variety to mashed potatoes with a meal. This rice comes out very flaky and smells so good. Between two of us, a box will last 4 or 5 uses. So, when I got a case as a warehouse deal special, it will last quite awhile. The price at Amazon is good compared to my local grocery store. If will be awhile before I need it again, but when I do, Amazon will be the first place I look.
