Not sure how these are so cheap, but they all worked perfectly right out of the box. Build quality was good, LED quality is great (nice and bright). They all fit easily into those round pin IC sockets as well. Since these are modern LEDs they don't need much current (check the specs) and you can use fairly high value resistors and still get plenty of light out of them. They even come with film over the top to protect the LEDs from scratching during shipment which was a nice touch, you can just peel it off. Overall it worked great. Highly recommended if you need quite a lot of these bar graph LEDs.

While inexpensive, the LED Segments all require different resistances to maintain similar brightness on the display when using. Making matters more difficult is that they are not consistent from unit to unit, so I would recommend testing each display prior to assuming that your project will have a consistent output. Packaging was another issue. These items are shipped on a piece of styrofoam in a plastic bag. When my Amazon shipment arrived in a box with other heavy items, they were irreversibly damaged and had to be returned. If you are looking for something quick to test with and have a project with minimal need for consistency, these will do the trick, but if you are looking for a quality item, I would keep looking.

I used a multi-meter in diode mode to determine the anode and cathode. The anodes are on the side with the text label, as marked in my picture. The voltage drops range from ~2.5V on the blue led to ~1.8V on the red led, so keep that in mind when building your circuits. These leds are very bright. I had to run 10k (2k on the yellow) resistors on them in order to be able to capture them in a photo. See attached.
