DAW and general use
I got these at the start of the year and waited a while to see how they worked out. For recording, they are excellent and I had no problems connecting to my PC. The 4.5" speakers have enough power for home use and can keep up with a guitar amp at home volumes. The cables for connecting the speakers were a bit short for my needs so I bought some 16 gauge wire and that was adequate. The slave speaker is 4 Ohms, 25 watt so up to 25 feet, 16 is fine. If you want longer, go with 14 gauge. The Bluetooth connection is simple and convenient. It turns these monitors into something very convenient and I wish more manufacturers would incorporate it. Being able to connect your phone or tablet is just fun. Something I think matters in a product in this category. No cables to listen to music on your phone, no messing about or booting up the computer. There are plenty of connections on the speaker and they will likely suit most home users. These are not high end studio monitors. For home use, this is actually quite a positive and part of the reason I wanted them. Professional studio monitors are extremely directional. These are, as all speakers, somewhat directional but they can fill a small room and be treated as a nice set of home stereo speakers. That may not suit pros but, if you are a pro, you will already know that and be looking for something specific. For music enthusiasts, creators and general home use, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more compelling product. I do fancy the subwoofer but honestly, they sound good enough for what I use them for and I don't really need to shake the whole house. So, I'd definitely recommend them for home use and general listening. They would be good for a gamer that wants something better than your typical PC speakers, these really are a massive upgrade at a reasonable price. 4.5" is generally a good place for home use and that quality vs cost sweet spot. If you need something for the pro studio, these aren't that but you'd already know that if you did. More than enough for the vast majority though. They look good, sound good, work well, have Bluetooth, lots of common connections and all you need is some speaker wire if you want to separate them across a small room for a small stereo speaker system. They tick a lot of boxes and deserve to be praised.

Decent, excellent value
I got these after 2 more expensive sets failed me:IK Micro-Loud - too much hiss, unjustifiable at their high cost, so returned.Logi Z407 - sounded mediocre with boomy out of sync base, poor vocals, returned.I gave up and returned to using my MacBook Pro 14" speakers. Then I saw these Eris 3.5 units on sale and thought why not try. They actually sound really decent for the money. Maybe not the same as a pair of £500 genelecs, but really for near £70 they are just really solid with near flawless sound and no loud hiss, and a clear step up from my MacBook audio. Might have expected more if they're expensive, but at this price level they're an easy 5 stars. Love the aux-in and headphone jack both being on the front too alongside the power button. Odd choice to have controls/power on left speakers, but that's a very minor quirk. Well done PreSonus!

Pairs beautifully
Well, it took three goes and boy; that is less than ideal.First two had issues and I think the second sub was a return if I’m being honest. The thing to watch with this kind of device, anything actively powered, the inbuilt power aspect can cause vibration. The second sub I ordered had a terrible hum which I reduced by getting the volume balanced between the Eris 4.5s and the sub and the interface for my MacThe first sub just stopped producing bass; which I sent back no issue but the second sun was faulty and the return window much smaller. It went “pop” the day the return window closed and although a bit of a pain, going back between Amazon and PreSonus, Amazon replaced the sub.Third time is definitely a charm. The 4.5 and sub pair fantastically.I’m mainly working with Logic Pro and the clarity and depth makes production difficult because of how much fun I’m having exploring sound. The bass on this unit is deeeeeeeeeeeeep. It fills my living room and I doubt I’ll ever push the unit. Don’t think I need to.The bass is punchy, tight and kicks bottom.I’m sure many people have had an easier time and despite trouble getting this purchase off the ground I’m thrilled I finally did.If you’re interested in the monitor sub combo, be assured it’s great.Once again, I’m using the Eris 4.5 (not BT) and Sub 8 and for 300 you’d be pushed to find better.Frankly amazing it’s this clear and powerful at that price.

Sound good but making popping noise when not playing
The speakers look and sound nice, allowing for +6db of treble or bas control from the main active speaker, however when 'idle' with nothing playing a popping sound can be heard (like a helicopter is taking off in the distance) , which can become annoying quite quickly if you don't like it. Personally I don't mind these as Im not using them in any professional environment, but others who are more noise sensitive may have an issue with this. This popping happens whatever level the gain is on the front or back, and stay at the same volume anytime the speaker is powered on.Apart from that though the form factor and design is nice, and the sound quality good fir the price point, would recommend if you don't mind the quite popping.

Exceptional!
I’m a fussy audiophile. These paired with my UA Volt 2 USB soundcard are simply brilliant for the money. Impressive bass from such a small form factor. Very well made too. Highly recommended.
