Taylors of Harrogate Loose Leaf Tea 1kg (Pure Assam)

Excellent coarse-cut Assam tea. Some have complained more tea than usual is required, but coarse-cut tea doesn't pack as well as finely cut tea, so this is normal. I typically brew three heaped teaspoons in an average (1 litre) teapot, and wait for the leaves to fully soak and sink. Others have complained that it takes too long to brew, but seriously if you are civilised enough to be drinking specific regional teas rather than a typical UK blended tea, you'd already be aware of that. Being coarse-cut, you can get away with using a cafetiere to brew it in, but a proper china teapot, especially with a tea-cosy if you'll be coming back later for more, is ideal. Taste is strong, colour is red to dark brown, malty/vanilla hit without a bitter aftertaste. Best kept in an air-tight container (or split amongst several, because 1kg is rather a lot of tea).

Despite initial thoughts of it being a little too bitter, I bought another pack, and I'm enjoying the experience of real tea!, lovely cuppas every time.

Excellent tea and arrives quickly

I'm an Assam tea drinker and was looking for a better/more cost effective tea than the usual tea bags. These loose leaves make a nice enough cup of tea. It's not the strongest I've had and it does require quite a bit of brewing time to get it about right. Flavourwise, it's pretty good and I've no complaints about that. On the whole, it's quite good tea at a reasonable price.

Makes a proper brew in an infusion tea pot.

I love the rich malty taste of this tea which is very refreshing. The size of the package makes for good value and keeps the tea fresh. My last purchase was a gift to my aunt and uncle who enjoyed it so much when they last stayed with us.

This is the weakest most flavourless Assam tea I have ever tasted and Assam is my tea of choice. I have to use nearly double the teaspoons of this in my pot as I use with almost every other brand I've tried. I like my tea medium strong with lots of nuance to the flavour. I won't be getting this one again. If you're looking for a full flavoured Assam this isn't it.

Earl grey is my favorite flavor or tea. This one has bergamot in it and takes it to another level. I absolutely love this loose leaf tea. It’s full of flavor and pairs well with brown sugar and milk. Highly recommend this tea.
