Following the previous season's cliffhanger, Mike (James Denton) was not written out of the cast after all, but left in a coma. Susan (Teri Hatcher) keeps a vigil at his bedside and meets Ian (Dougray Scott), a handsome and rich British man keeping a similar vigil for his wife. Newly single Gabriella (Eva Longoria) meets an unexpected admirer, while Edie (Nicolette Sheridan) finds unexpected family--and an unexpected beau. The season's primary mystery revolves around Bree's (Marcia Cross) new husband, Orson (Kyle McLachlan), who turns out to have some skeletons in his closet--including one he shares with Mike--and some women in his past that he wishes had stayed there (Valerie Mahaffey and Dixie Carter). We no longer see Lynette (Felicity Huffman) in her office; rather, the emphasis is on Tom's (Doug Savant) new "dream job" of opening a pizza parlor and the financial and personal conflicts that arise from it. The mystery is resolved unusually early, leaving the rest of the season to weddings and a shock ending. Even if a few scenarios were a little too obvious going for the emotional hot buttons (a hostage situation at a supermarket, a forest encounter), the writing and the cast were so good that we didn't mind being taken along for the ride and still found the moments moving. Huffman was the season's standout and accordingly scored the cast's only Emmy nomination, but everyone was in top form (including Cross, who was sorely missed when her real-life pregnancy knocked her out of a number of late-season episodes). Another Excellent Season of the Best Show on Television!
***DON'T WORRY--SPOILER-FREE REVIEW***When I first heard of Desperate Housewives, I wasn't interested. Coming off the heels of Sex and the City's series finale, I thought it was destined to be a cheesey, watered down "replacement" for HBO's iconic show. However, after seeing the very first episode, I realized I was wrong. Desperate Housewives is entirely in a class of its own, and distinguishes itself with its unique blend of dark comedy, mystery, and suspense. After the first episode, I was hooked, and have been ever since.In my opinion, the first season of the show was perfect. Great story, characters, writing, and performances by everyone involved. While many viewers and critics found Season 2 bizarre and irrelevant, I feel it may have been overly-scrutinized and simply didn't live up to the hype that Season 1's overwhelming success had stirred. Yes, some of the sub-plots were uninteresting, and the main arching storyline involving the Applewhites wasn't as intriguing as Season 1's story, but it was still an incredibly fun season to watch.While Season 2 took on a much darker tone (maybe too dark for the characters involved), Season 3 managed to find the perfect balance of comedy and suspense--a formula that made Season 1 so successful. In fact, Season 3 is probably the funniest season yet! By now, the characters are so well-defined, that the actors and writers have more freedom to take them to some very funny extremes, without having to explain everything along the way.As funny as it is, Season 3 also weaves a great arching mystery and a number of juicy stories for every character throughout the season, consistently keeping viewers coming back to find out just what will happen next.Highlight episodes of Season 3 include the season premiere ("Listen to the Rain on the Roof"), the INCREDIBLE, FANTASTIC, AMAZING "Bang," "The Miracle Song," "I Remember That," "The Little Things You Do Together," "God, That's Good," "Into the Woods," "What Would We Do Without You?" and the shocking season finale, "Getting Married Today."The DVD set is great, but a few more extras like commentaries and maybe some past season promos would have been nice.Overall, this was an excellent season for the residents of Wisteria Lane! I can't wait to see what Season 4 has in store for them!

Well I had my dreams come true when this arrived...my new DVD of the third season of Desperate Housewives!!! The shipping time was awesome and almost magic! ( I had watched all the seasons 1-6 last year when I rented them from Blockbuster, but wanted to watch them again at my leisure and have my own copies!) Anyway after being disabled from back surgery since Sept. 2009, I have just fallen in love with this series!! Have had time to watch all the ones I missed and this has been the sunshine of my life while I was healing.The Ladies of Wisteria Lane make me laugh, cry and they are just amazing, everyone on the show is great! And so Amazon has always impressed me, so I put in a search and found out that I could order "used" ones that were perfect and would work with my budget!!! Cool! (It's been a financial nightmare for 2 years in our household, a story that is getting to be everyone's story, sadly.) Anyway, as soon as I finished up season 2 , the very next day Season 3 arrived !!! In super like new condition! Happy Happy! Joy Joy!!! Thank you from a very happy customer and a new Desperate Housewife junkie!

Hours of fun!
This is as good as chick-flick network television gets. Desperate Housewives, Season 3 retains the fun-yet-creepy plot-driven spirit of the earlier seasons. The girls continue to find themselves in completely unlikley situations; the loose ends of old plot lines are tied up even as intriguing new developments emerge; and the cast looks fabulous. Particularly outstanding is the episode entitled "Bang"--great acting, great writing, and you really wonder how it's going to turn out. Suspense, desperation, desire, bad decisions, frailty, greed, lust, secrets, feminine wiles, revenge---it's all here.If you love Desperate Housewives, this is a must-have. Personally, I can't wait for Season 4. I mean, what's going to happen to Edie...what is Bree thinking...will Susan really be happy...will Gabrielle stray again...how will Lynette continue...I'd be spoiling it if I were more explicit!

Excellent Series
The season completed my collection of the Desperate Housewives series. The shows creator is excellent in providing drama, light comedy and mystery to the series. The actresses and actors are tops in their field, and ecery episode is most enjoyable, and I never loose interest. DVD's were brand new and no problems.

Sometimes you need a stress relief
I know a lot of people make fun of me for liking this show, but the truth is, I LOVE IT! And now I even catch my husband watching too. It's so over the top that it could only happen on Wisteria Lane! But done so in such a funny way. It makes me laugh and feel better that after a few episodes I just really don't care anymore that the paperboy threw the paper in the mud again and the mailman seems to have a whimsical idea that your specific address is more of a suggestion than a required rule to be delivered to and your neighbor is on vacation so it's 3 more days before you get you mail, lol. The messes these women get into make me laugh and laugh and I catch myself thinking, wow that was such a Susan thing to do, or you just have to throw your hands in the air when you're having a Lynette day..... or stop being such a Bree about it, lol. It makes me laugh and melt away the annoyances of the day so I'd say it's done it's job in my life.....

Season 3 Desperate Housewives
I ordered Season 3 of Desperate Housewives from Amazon amd had in just a few days. Great price, fast shipping, and dvds were still in package and new! This season is as good as the last two. It keeps you on edge and always wanting to know what's going to happen next. I didn't like that the last disk was a "Extras" disk. Make sure you have your SEASON 4 before ypu watch the least episode of Season 3!

Still Desperate!!
This is one of the best seasons, in my opinion, from start to finish! I know we all have different ideas on what is good and bad but I really enjoyed this chapter. Though Laurie Metcalf did steal the thunder as a vengeful and betrayed wife. She was hilarious in the "Bang" episode as the gun friendly Carolyn Bigsby. I did actually like Dougray Scott here as well, contrary to others belief. He hid his Scottish accent well and his line "that better be German for no" was brilliant. Didn't really enjoy the "War Of The Roses" sketch with Gaby and Carlos, but won't dwell on that.
