Tools -Revolver- Paint Brush and Roller Extender

Worked perfectly for cutting in in gable ends that I couldn't reach otherwise

I used this with a brush to paint edges of wall and ceiling at the top of a stairwell. I used the same colour on ceiling and wall so didn't need to be too accurate, but with practice should be possible to paint a reasonable line in a different colour. I used a Farrow & Ball long handled cutting in brush, and the screw clamp held the straight wooden handle very securely, teamed with a Harris pole the set up proved very stable and easy to use.I am very pleased with this purchase as it meant that I could redecorate my stairwell myself and didn't need to get a decorator in.

Searching the internet for tools to help me paint the facia and soffit boards, I came across the McCauley Revolver on a US website. I was surprised to find it on sale on Amazon's UK site and rather shocked by the price. I read the wide ranging reviews but still decided to buy it. On receiving the item, I realised why so many reviewers are critical of the high cost and fairly crude construction. I was also horrified to discover that its flexibility doesn't quite match the glowing advertising blurb. The roller part only has horizontal and vertical positioning - so calling it a 'revolver' is pretty misleading. The brush part has only one fixed angle with no rotation!However, I decided to see if I could make it work for my unusual application which was to paint the facia and soffit boards of my two storey house without using a long ladder. (I had a stroke a year ago and nobody is willing to let me use an extension ladder!) So I used both the roller and brush parts of the tool to paint the woodwork above the windows from inside the room. (With the windows open in the panel cleaning position of course.) I then painted the rest of the boarding from ground level with the "Revolver" bits attached to the top of a 4m telescopic pole. Yes, it was hard work, but I'd have struggled even more without this tool. And no part of the tool broke - so its clearly much stronger than it appears and the much criticised brush grip part did its job brilliantly.So, in summary, make sure its limited functions are really suitable for your application before you buy but don't pay too much attention to those who criticise its construction. I suspect its also likely to be more suited to conventional usage rather than my quite unusual application.

It works so well. I have mobility issues and even though I can paint things I cannot climb on steps to reach high places. Yesterday I painted a high garden fence, that is even higher for me to reach as it is on a slope. The gadget holds a paintbrush easily and firmly and the angle I needed. It fitted on a pole I already had - just screws in. I amazed myself that I could achieve this task but only thanks to the gadget. Thank you.

This was bought to fix (using the thread not the push in) in a Harris pole (which is very good BTW) so as to do the cutting in on a half landing which is particularly awkward for us. We had to try a few different brushes before we got one that worked. The issue is the handle of the brush. Many have a tear drop shape with a taper away from the brush head and as the screw mechanism in the extender can only go up or down, all we ended up doing was forcing the brush handle back out so no use at all. The screw thread itself was very tight I thought.The other part of this is a holder to take a small roller. It isn't for use for covering large areas and is again better suited for doing some of the cutting in work.So not bad all round but if you buy one, you may need to get some different brushes.

Fascia board and metal guttering on my bungalow over conservatory needed painting this was perfect. I'm female and in my 80s and found it so easy to use. I found it better with the brush than roller but that was probably just me.

bought this to paint a high wall which was awarded for ladder should have saved myself the expense cause this tool is rubbish chucked in the bin

Work great

This product works just as advertised. It worked very well while painting my kitchen, it got into the corners of the room easily, and it made my painting job much easier. It's an easy to handle painting tool and this product helped with reaching hard to get to areas, especially high areas around the ceiling. While using this product, the paint went on evenly and smoothly. Furthermore, it was also easy to use, and I liked that it can be adjusted at different angles, so that I was able to get into tight corners. Overall, I do recommend this product to my family and friends and to anyone who's considering purchasing it. It is a good product, and it does help with painting in any corner or high area of your room. A perfect 5 stars!
