More seeds then the package stated
Was leary about buying seeds online.Bought the 2 pack. Opened one package and counted the number of seeds just to see if it was as the package stated. There actually were a couple extra.Lightly sanded the seeds and soaked overnight in water with a couple of drops of Hydrogen proxide.Place the seeds in between damp paper towel, then put them in a ziploc baggy leaving the baggy open.Placed the seeds on a heat mat...THEY SPOUTED IN 2 DAYS!20 of the 27 seeds showed root growth and the rest have a small root tip starting to show.I only used 1 package. Will store the other one. Will update as plants grow.

Don’t waste your money
I purchased Gourd luffa seeds, but what was in the package was golden marigolds. Everyone of the marigolds came up, but not one gourd plant

Perfect
I don’t know why but these seeds aren’t sold in stores. I want to try my hand at growing and using my own loofas kinda opens the door to sustainable home grown sponge type product. So far the plants are growing well I am curious to see the journey to actual usable loofas

easy to plant, grows quick
This Luffa seeds really grow quick and easily, I waited for a little bit till the weather was right before planting them. I planted 3 seeds and all three grew. The plants crawl so make sure to have a lot of space for them to grow. Now just have to wait for them to grow big to evaluate the quality.

Grows well
I finally had a chance to start some for this growing season, and it's already growing rapidly. I'm hoping that it'll be productive in a few months. For now, I can highly recommend these seeds due to how quickly they germinate.

Good Price, good growth thus far
I have had mixed results with this brand before, but the desire to try loufah again won out. About 15 years ago I grew them after finding them on a niche/ rare seed site. These produce Luffa/ Louffah/ Loofa sponges like you see in stores. They grow like zucchini, with hard fibers developing inside. When dried and de-seeded they can be used for bathing and cleaning. I especially liked that the loofah were gentle enough to scrub non-stick cooking pans without scratching.I planted 10 seeds that time and they are vigorous growers- large Jurassic Park like leaves that need a LOT of space! This package says 15 feet, but in my previous exercise, they went 20 feet before climbing up a large tree, LOL. You need a lot of space for these.I received the 2 pack of 25 seeds, so that is a tremendous amount, but they are packed for 2024 so the second pack should still be good come next season. The seeds inside the envelopes were clean and unbroken with instructions printed on the envelopes. Of the test plantings I did on these to test viability, 5 of the 6 germinated and are now ready to plant. I will be planting the remainder of the first pack shortly when the additional components arrive. Since they require so much space to vine out, I am putting them in 10 gallon fabric pots with a set of plant towers and a 10x10 net trellis to shade the garden shed... and likely the roof. I'm in South Florida, so it's finally cool enough to plant these here, whereas these are best for summer planting elsewhere. It's "summer" year round here, so no worries.I'm almost worried about planting that many at once- previously with the 10 plants, I reaped SO MANY loufah (2 large black contractor trash bags after processing) that I was giving them to everybody like a crazy person... for MONTHS. Like I said, these are much like zucchini.I followed the "processing" instructions the last time on most of the fruits, but the ones that I let wither on the vine to dry were a little more firm/ durable fibers and slightly more brown. Leaving them alone to dry naturally was much easier than sun-drying, peeling, removing seeds (there's usually lots in each to re-use) and that suggested cleaning them in a washing machine with just bleach water for a cycle. It removes any undetached seeds, kills any bacteria or fungus remaining and brightens them, so good if you are giving them as gifts. They can further be cut to desired size and shape- because left whole they can look quite ginormously phallic, lol. It's a great project that doesn't require a lot of tending once planted, especially if you let them dry on the vine, and you have 3-4 months of growth and light filtering coverage with loofah sponges at the end. Kids especially loved it- the fast growth and giant leaves, seeing the flowers develop to fruits and in the end seeing loofah sponges and being able to use them.

A good value for two packets
This review is for Sereniseed Luffa Gourd Seeds (2-Pack). The seeds come in a paper packet with full instructions on the back, and it says packed for 2024. The seeds are clean and free of debris and are black with an appearance similar to watermelon seeds. One package opened contained 26 seeds, 1 more than the 25 stated. It is too late in the season to plant so comments cannot be made yet as to germination. The luffas can be eaten like a squash; this takes 90-120 days to maturity. For fully mature gourds that can be used as luffa sponges, it says 150-200 days to maturity, so it should be planted very early in the season and may be challenging in short growing season areas.
