Easy Rider (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]

I thoroughly enjoyed this counter-culture classic, in spite of the manner in which contemporary critical opinion seems to be lukewarm in its appraisal. I found the soundtrack engaging (unsurprisingly given the songs selected) but I also found the cinematography of Kovacs to be gloriously resplendent, a constant reminder of the beauty of the land (if not the people). Yes, there are elements that now seem clumsy/naive (not least the 'bad trip' sequence) but equally, there are moments of genuine subtlety. This is particularly the case regarding Jack Nicholson's character and especially his touching monologue around the campfire. The Criterion edition is an excellent package and does full justice to this seminal film.

Classic freedom movie, just what the doctor prescribed mid Covid 19 lockdown! Loved it and it was delivered quickly.

Bought it for nostalgia really..For some reason it wasnt as good as I remembered.

A mediocre film in essence, but retains it's cult status with Hopper's groovy camera work and shufflin' soundtrack. The commentaries are excellent, too-
