10" Full Spectrum Light

I purchased M$M LED 10" light for my canarys' cage about a month ago. It is a great little light, easy to attach to the cage and supplies just enough light for her cage in the summer months as there is only afternoon sun in the room her cage is in. I am completely satisfied with the great quality of this light . Highly recommend this light for softbill birds! It is expensive but well worth it, it works beautifully!

As a new society finch keeper I was a little confused on the best lighting for birds, so I decided to invest in a bird-marketed light with good reviews from people who know more than me! This was more than I hoped to spend. That said, it was easy to install- rather than the included brackets I used a couple high strength velcro squares and stuck it to the interior roofing (ie, it was easy to manipulate to my needs!). I also used separate hardware to tie back and run the cord rather than the included zip ties (which would serve the purpose if needed). I did think the timer came with this, but after reviewing the advertised pictures it’s clear it does not, which was disappointing at this price. I have since ordered and received separately the timer which is definitely worth having at this point since we’re in this deep already! It’s a nice enough set up I could do for half the cost with my aquarium lighting, I’m just hoping (telling myself) it’s worth the money because the lights themselves are specifically for birds. So far mine seem happy with it!

This is the second time I’ve purchased one of these lights. They work beautifully and you can tell in the winter time how happy the birds are to be bathed in natural light.

It has been 6 months since I purchased my first one and it still worked perfectly fine, they once tried to chew the cord but the cord has been fine. The light doesn't feel too hot, while I still doubt how effective this light is on improving their health, because my birds doesn't seems to be attract by the light and most of time still choose to stay by the window, I felt safe because this is definitely not gonna burn my bird, The lights also make a great cage decoration. I have since purchased another one and use them with a 2 outlet mechanical timer, the adapter of the second one is different from the first one, the light color is also a bit different (one of them is a bit more yellowish), but still worked fine nonetheless.

*FYI* if you have a parrot that chews on stuff, look for the other listing of this light that comes with better cord protection for hookbill birds (I didn't see it until after I received this but it's a much more attractive solution than my usual PVC pipe protection is.) My green cheek is out of the cage all day, spends plenty of time in the windows, and I take him out as much as possible when it's sunny--but I still worry that it's not enough light, since I live in Seattle and we have so many partly cloudy and overcast days. When I bought this, I wasn't expecting some huge difference in behavior, maybe just to help normalize his light schedule a little during these super short winter days. Unfortunately this light is suuuper white, and harsh blue-white lights tend to give me a headache. Because he hangs out right next to where I work, it's pretty hard to ignore if I want it to be somewhere he gets any use out of it. If you leave your parrots alone during the day while you go to work I'm sure it'd be fine, but I think I'll have to return it and figure something else out, like a clamp lamp so I can better aim it out of my peripheral vision. The other con is I really wish it had an on/off switch. Since I haven't wanted it on first thing in the morning, and I visit my sister a lot so am out of the house for days at a time, a timer plug-in would be a hassle, plus an additional expense.

UPDATE: I just wanted to thank the seller for standing by the product. He honors the warranty with no problem, small issue with plug, but he sent a new one out immediately, even during the holiday season rush. Light is still working perfectly and birds love it. Buy with confidence from M&M, great seller! This light is perfect for my finch cage. My son mounted it to the top of the cage because it's a solid roof and they sit at the top and really like to bask in the light. It's very bright and lights up practically the whole cage, which is pretty large. Totally happy with the purchase and would definitely purchase another one.

My small collection of little finches, love this UVD light and It keeps them healthy…. And their bright colors go on show !. When the timer turns on the light, which is gradual , (a very nice feature,) they all wake up and become happy and active , worth every penny.

With winter days being so dull and miserable I decided to buy this light for my budgies flight cage because they are sat in the gloom almost every day despite being by the window where they can see out into the garden. The light was super easy to install once I purchased the required timer. It’s brilliant and the birds are really vocal and happy now, they play a lot more and the light brings out their colouring beautifully. It’s a considered purchase because you have to buy the timer as well as the light but well worth it in my opinion. You can buy 3 different sizes. I bought the 18 inch which is perfect for my flight cage. One last thing they are LED lights so very cheap to run.

Good light! It doesn’t provide heat while using so I guess it should be okay if you place it inside the cage. I just put it on top of my cage for safety. The light is softwhite so it doesn’t make an extreme bright light, meaning it is good for small birds like my finches. Yes! It helps my finches more active. Gonna buy the longer one for my bigger cage.

Love these bird lights. I have bought two more since that are the hookbill type (with chew protection) and plan to replace all of my bird lights with this brand. Nice bright light, attach either inside or outside of the cage, leds mean no bulbs to replace and energy saving. You do need a timer as there is no on/of switch but i use timers on all of my bird lights anyways so that is no problem for me. Highly recommend.
