HONE Knife Sharpener is a game-changer!
I've used several knife sharpeners over the years, but the HONE Knife Sharpener truly stands out for its ease of use and precision. The rolling design allows for a smooth, consistent sharpening motion that ensures your knives are honed to perfection every time. It works on a wide variety of blades, including chefโs knives, cleavers, and most non-serrated edges, giving them a razor-sharp finish with minimal effort. What I love most is how beginner-friendly it isโthere's no guesswork. Simply roll it along the blade a few times, and you're good to go. The unique design also makes it easy to store, and it doesn't take up much counter space. Plus, itโs built with high-quality materials, so you can tell it's designed to last. To take your sharpening to the next level, I also highly recommend the HONE Pro Accessories Kit. It includes everything you need to keep your knives razor sharpโadditional sharpening discs, and even a leather strop. Another fantastic add-on is the HONE Knife Holder Extension. It provides a longer platform for your knives during the sharpening process, giving you more control and making the sharpening even safer and more efficient. Itโs especially useful for longer knives, and makes the process smoother for those who want an extra layer of precision. Overall, if youโre serious about maintaining your knives and want a hassle-free experience, the HONE Knife Sharpener paired with the Pro Accessories Kit and Knife Holder Extension is unbeatable! Highly recommend

Foolproof Knife Sharpener - A Must Have
The Hone Knife Sharpener System is easy to use and ensures a sharp blade. Maintaining the proper angle on many knife sharpeners is difficult, the Hone System guarantees the proper angle to ensure a sharp blade. They also make a number of accessories such as many grit discs which enhance the sharpening experience. It has ballbearings so the sharpening action is perfectly smooth. I previously purchased a knock off brand and it didnโt have a smooth motion. The Hone System is excellent. I purchased the basic system and the accessories kit and can highly recommend Hone.

Great buy!
Did a good amount of research on these sharpening wheels after the Tumbler and a few others started popping up all over social media. As a chef I swear by my whetstones when it comes to really fine sharpening my damascus or german steel. Which as most know is time consuming, tedious and while very satisfying when done correctly; one can also completely ruin their knives if done incorrectly. So the idea of something that can do the work of the whetstone, faster and more efficiency is a cool idea. When it comes to sharpening the angle at which the blade is sharpened at is really important, so the magnets/angle hold were in my opinion what i looked for as mattering most. The Hone sharpener got the best reviews when it came to this feature so i went with it and have been very impressed! Holds both large and small knives perfectly in place at either 15 or 20 angles (can buy attachments to make for fine tuned angles as well!) allowing the honing discs to do their work. 400 grit will put a new edge on very dull knives and will fix small kicks too with a little extra work. The 1000 grit disc polishes and hones to a near razor edge. Unless your knife is extremely dull the 1000 grit wheel should be all you need to sharpen your knife. Great product! Quality of materials used and design are strong here. Maybe a little expensive than some, cheaper than others but better magnetic material then most im thinking. Quality enough for a professional chef. Easy enough for a home cook wants sharp knives who either doesnโt have/feel comfortable with whetstones yet or just wants to ensure theyโre getting the right angles on their knifeโs edge. Great buy

This System Works, and Works Well
When I was a pretty serious hobby knife maker, I struggled to get the angles right on the edges my blades. I finally got proficient, but most of my friends and family are not as obsessed as I am about edges and angles. For all of them (and for most of my current needs, too), Hone has the answer to their unconscious dreams. Honeโs rolling sharpening system flattens the learning curve. With their system, it is challenging to screw up the angles. You can get your knives sharper better and quicker than any of the other four sharpening systems I have owned. The angles are dead on. I bought one of Honeโs systems to send to one of my adult sons, but I am keeping it, and ordering him another. This thing works. Please donโt waste your time and money on some other brandโs cheap offering. No other brand that I have found has Honeโs ability to sharpen small blades. Yeah, I mean the paring knives that are often the most quickly dull in your kitchen. Honeโs diamond disks are double sided. The thoughts and efforts that they have invested in their quality and design visions are outstanding. Their customer service sets a very high bar. If this review sound like a rave, it is. Iโm sold. Check them out.

I hoped for more
The sharpener does a decent job but often requires something to modify elevation for proper sharpening. Fortunately we have a selection of various height cutting boards in the kitchen. Once you figure out which angle you need and find the right elevation, sharpening is very simple. I do support the knives I sharpen with my fingers because the magnets aren't quite strong enough for some blades. I wish the finer surface was even finer because I can see circular marks on the blade edge once complete. This doesn't give me the sharp edges I expected or wanted, but it does help a heavily used EDC or kitchen knife work better than it did. I would only recommend this for a small and simple basic sharpener. I don't find this is the proper tool for a serious edge.

I love the Hone Sharpener.
After reading reviews on other rolling sharpener systems like the Tumbler and Horl, I purchased the Hone knife sharpener. The Tumbler system is a similar price but has received consistent complaints about the magnets holding the knife to maintain a consistent edge slipping during use. And although the Horl system is widely liked, the cost of $200-$400 seems excessive for what you get. So what's different about the Hone sharpener, and why did I buy it? First of all, it is built like a little tank. The roller is heavy in the hand and, with internal ball bearings, is incredibly smooth to operate. Another benefit is the doubled with two-sided diamond sharpening and honing discs. Twice the life for the same price. Like most other rolling sharpeners, the base has two sharpening angles of 15 and 20 degrees. It has super powerful magnets that hold even oversized chef knives securely. Unique to Hone, the rubber-coated base is nonslip and has a dedicated slot to sharpen small knives. I have an extensive pocket knife collection with many blades under 3 inches. That sealed the deal for me. It's pretty damn easy to use. Just slap on your knife and start rolling. It produced shaving sharp edges on most of my knives. The only problems I had at first were from my expectations. Some of my knives were in pretty bad shape. It took over 10-15 minutes per side to form a burr. I bought into the system because it is expandable. Hone offers Pro Accessories, including diamond discs with #200, #400, #700, #1000, and 3000 grits. I want those rougher disks to re-profile the angles on some of my knives. All in all, I am happy with Hone and can enthusiastically recommend it.

Quality product, easy to use
I purchased the Hone knife sharpener after doing a lot of research into several other brands including Tumbler, Horl and all the Chinese cheapo brands. I chose the Hone knife sharpener for a couple of reasons. According to their marketing, it uses ball bearings in the construction, it has removable, two-sided sharpening discs and it uses the strongest magnets to hold your knife in place while sharpening. I just sharpened my first knife and confirm all of the above. Small knives for most of these types of sharpeners just can't be done, but I was able to sharpen my 4" paring knife without an issue because of the way the knife mounting block was designed. It was so easy to use because the block you attach the knife to, did indeed, have incredibly strong magnets that held the knife rock solid while I used the wonderfully smooth rolling sharpener. The roller is heavy and feels well-constructed and solid in your hand. Several strokes of the course disc on each side of the knife followed by the same using the fine disc and my knife came back to life! The sharpening disks are removable and replaceable, plus you can buy other discs with different grit levels to hone your knife to a razor's edge if needed. The outrageously expensive Horl system can do the same. but at more than twice the price! The Tumbler doesn't have this capability nor the strong magnetic system and costs about the same as the Hone. Don't even bother with the Chinese cheapo knockoffs. I believe the Hone knife sharpener is the best value for the money in this knife sharpening category. The product came beautifully packaged but didn't include any documentation or use instructions. However, there is plenty of good information on their website.

Does a good job
So, I'm not a knife sharpener expert on using this but I'll give my honest opinion on if it's worth the cost which is pretty expensive honestly. Here is what it boils down to. First, how comfortable are you using a Dimond hone and a regular honing rod? If you're pretty good at them and you take care of your knives meaning once or twice a year you use the Dimond and regularly use the hobing rod you don't need this. However, the edge probably won't be super sharp like a factor but you're maintaining and if thats all thats needed save the $$. If you use a wet stone you're going to 100% get a better edge. Prob is, they are super time consuming, messy with the water and if yoi don't know what you're doing you can really mess up the blades. So this device is a win unless you like using wet stones. From what I found, This device is pretty easy to use and if you're knives are let's just say you pretty much killed them. Ummm, me for instance with one knife I use it to open boxes and all sorts of stuff that it's not meant for it really did a good job at bringing back the edge pretty sharp. Maybe not factory like they say, but sharp enough where cutting vegetables or meats are now easy. It does scratch the knives a little, but not bad, just a touch. I did find the end of the knives did not get as sharp but overall I would say it's worth it especially if you mangled some knives.

Best knife sharpener
I've been getting a ton of Facebook ads for a rolling knife sharpener lately, so naturally, my curiosity got the better of me โฆ. att first, I was tempted to buy it right away, but I thought, "Why not check out some comparison videos first?" Thank goodness I did. The original sharpener from Germany looked top-notch but was way out of my price rangeโฆ.. the one that kept appearing in the ads had a flood of negative reviews talking about it jamming after a while, which was a huge red flag for me. As I continued my search โฆ.. I stumbled upon some videos featuring the HONE Knife Sharpener. The reviewers' positive feedback caught my attention, so I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase it. The return policy and 10-year warranty on manufacturerโs website gave me some peace of mind, just in case it didn't live up to the hype. Well, let me tell you, this sharpener exceeded my expectations. I've never had knives this sharp before. The company's claims were spot on. It's incredibly easy to use, with a solid, heavy-duty build. The two-sided reversible discs are a fantastic feature, making the whole process quick and effective. My knives are now sharper than ever before โ almost frighteningly so. It's made cooking so much more enjoyable and fun, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you're thinking about getting one, I say go for it. You won't regret it.

Easy to use
First of all, I was wanting to wait a while longer before submitting my review, however I will update if I feel there are any more impressive or disappointing long term results. Pros - this is a very easy sharpener to use. -The base is *nearly perfect as is. Has a saddle built into the molding to act as a holder for the roller. The base is double sided for both sharpening angles. Meaning that it sharpens both large and small knives to 15ยฐ or 20ยฐ depending on what side of the base faces up. Has a ledge molded into the base to hold small knives above base lip. -The magnets are very powerful and hold knife very securely. - the diamond sharpening discs are double sided and easy to remove and clean. - the metal center "handle" of the roller is textured giving a nonslip feel. Being metal it will not swell or suffer any other negative effects of water infiltration. - there is a 3000 grit ceramic honing disc available on Amazon, and a 200 grit double sided diamond disc available at this time through the manufacturer's website. Cons -no registration for warranty. -both the 400 grit and 1000 grit diamond discs appear to wear extremely fast. Discs considered to be consumables and not covered by warranty. Referr to previous point. -replacement discs are quit expensive, or very expensive depending on how long they actually last. I have so far used this sharpener to sharpen 4 kitchen knives in total. 1- 7 inch chefs knife and 3- drop point (similar to santoku) Japanese knives 8inch 7 inch 6 inch. The first knife sharpened was a 7 inch chef knife. It was not dull, but needed to have edges realigned. Started at 20ยฐ with the 400 grit diamond side and zero pressure except to keep roller evenly against blade while rolling. Did 30 passes and could feel a burr, but not along entire edge. Flipped and did 30 along other side with same results. Flipped and did another 25 passes, burr along entire edge now. Flipped and need just over 30 passes to feel entire edge long burr. Flipped and did 15 passes, flipped 15, f10,f10,f8,f8,f5,f5,f2,f2,f1,f1. 1000 grit disc 15 passes, flipped 15 passes, f10,f10,f8,f8,f5,f5,f2,f2,f1,f1. Results were amazing. Finished with a few slices down a 3000 grit ceramic rod, 1 edge trailing pass on each side, finished. No pasted leather. It's a knife not a razor. Could easily shave hairs. Easily removed discs to wash and dry. Both discs felt smooth as glass on the side used. Wtf. 1 knife is hardly "years" of wear. The next 2 knives were sharpened to 15ยฐ started with the same used disc sides. Knife #2 -8 inch drop point. Had to do nearly 100 passes flipping blade to ensure even wear. I could see black filings but had to flip 400 disc to new side to achieve burr. Once burr was even along both sides I did the reducing number of strokes same as before. Flipped to 1000 grit and finished with 2nd knife with the used 1000 grit. Same amazingly sharp knife results. Nearly 1 hour to sharpen knife #2. Knife #3 -7 inch drop point 15ยฐ. Same as knife #2 except had to flip 1000 grit to see results. At least 1 hour very sharp if not amazingly so. Knife #4 -6 inch drop point 20ยฐ. Same progression as knife #1 used the stone sides with the most grit feel. Over 1 hour to achieve sharp knife. Not impressed. Knives #1 and #2 are shaving sharp. I know, I sharpen my own straight razors. Both knives will pop hairs. Knives #3 and #4 are sharp. They will pass a thumb nail test, but not pop hairs. I'm not looking for shave sharp, like I said they are knives, not razors. The first 2 got amazing results without much effort, the 1st nearly no effort. But at the cost of well over $$$ for sharpener, the life of diamond sharpening disc should be way longer. If I have to buy new discs already that would mean the sharpener cost almost as much the 4 knives that were sharpened. I have about 8 more knives that I intended to use this sharpener on, but I may have to rethink this. Maybe the discs will go a while yet maintaining the 4 knives that were sharpened, but I doubt that they will be able to realign edges on any other knives the way they are. * as for that base, near perfect could in my opinion be perfect if the large knife side had the same beveled edges as the small knife sides. The 8" drop point knife that I sharpened is not very wide and only sits above the base at the handle. This means that in order to keep blade flex manageable while sharpening the knife needs to attach to the base at a min 1/3 down the blade which means the blade is too short for the holder, but too tall for the small side of the base. If the large side had the same taper off the corners as the small side of the base, this would alleviate most, if not all of the issue. The magnets are more than strong enough to maintain a hold on the large knives if this was done. I will reach out to the manufacturer to see if I recieved defective discs, or if this is natural and knife sharpening with this system is intended to take 1+ hrs per knife. I will update this review in future as I am more than willing to give a fair and accurate review. As things sit at the time of this review, I can only recommend if you have accurately sharpened knives and are looking to maintain for long term. If you are looking to realign your knife edges and resharpen blades fully, I recommend getting your knives sharpened professionally instead. UPDATE: Nov. 22, 2023 I reached out to Hone to inform of my experience. Received a response almost immediately. They assured me that my experience was not the norm, and the sharpening discs must be defective and somehow slipped through quality control. They requested photos to analyze and figure out why they failed so quickly. They have also offered to replace both the 400 and 1000 grit discs free of charge, and are sending additionally the 200 grit diamond disc and the 3000 grit ceramic hone disc as compensation for my troubles. WOW, this is customer service that every company should strive to achieve! They are committed completely to customer satisfaction! Definitely deserve 5 stars for their customer service! With renewed confidence in the Hone Knife Sharpener team, I honestly now recommend this product to all. I look forward to trying out the replacement discs, and hope they perform as intended. I will update again if needed.

Great product - top quality and so effective
Love this product - works well and easy to use. Ive mothballed my Nirey and Lansky sharpeners. The magnets are very strong and the sharpening wheels are reversable for extended life. Also have a 15degree option for my Shun knife - you will not be disappointed with the Hone

Incredible !!!
I purchased this and then I also purchased the "๐๐ข๐ก๐ Pro Accessories Package Set". A total of 220 euros for both. This is about the same price as I bought my "Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition". I have been using the Ken Onion for about 3 years and was happy with it. I misplaced it and couldn't find it so I bought the complete "HONE system" in case I ever found my "Ken Onion". I have since found my "Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition", but I will probably never use it again. "The HONE system" when used with a bit of patience, sharpens my knives razor sharp, literally, I can shave myself almost as well as using a cutthroat razor, something I could never achieve with "my work sharp". If you have a relatively sharp knife, it perfects it in minutes. I also had a few ever so slightly chipped hi carbon Japanese knives. These each it took over 30 minutes to sharpen. When my knives are sharpened, it takes only a few seconds to retention the edge. The ๐๐ข๐ก๐ ๐๐ป๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ is an excellent choice, but if you purchase the "๐๐ข๐ก๐ Pro Accessories Package Set" as well, you will most certainly have one of the best (for me the best) sharpening systems on the market.

Great sharpener. Can be used with big or small knives -- Has replaceable disks
I had seen a review of the Hone on the Zsa.io blog because I had bought one of their keyboards. I had been wanting one of these types of sharpeners. Since Zsa had mentioned how much they liked it I decided to give this one a try. I am not disappointed. This is a really good and easy to use sharpener. I have several different kinds of sharpeners including Japanese Naniwa whetstones. Those are really nice and they will get your knives extremely sharp. My problem with them is that I tend to scratch up my blades when I sharpen them. I don't really care, but I do have a knife with a nice pattern on the blade and I was hoping not to ruin it. I had been holding off on sharpening it for that reason. With this sharpener, the sharpening disks only ever touch your knife edges. They never touch the flat of your blade. And since the roller is on ball bearings it's very smooth and you can get a really fast rhythm going. This is good since it makes the sharpening much less of a chore. A few other things I like about it: - It feels very heavy and well made. - The sharpening disks are replaceable. You can buy other ones with varying coarseness on their website. I don't think any other rolling sharpener has this ability except for a very expensive one I had been looking at. - The holder is very practical. Each side is used for a different purpose. 2 of the sides are for 15 and 20 degree big and normal sized knives. The other 2 sides are for 15 and 20 degree small knives. I tried it with my paring knife and it works great. Looking at the holders of competing rollers, I don't think you can use them with small knives in any practical way? The knives would slide around too much since magnets are the only thing holding them to the rubber. - It comes in a gift worthy magnetic closing box. Inside the box there's text that recommends you keep the box and use it to store the sharpener and holder. It says it will keep other things safe from the magnets when sealed in the box. This seems true since the box is really well padded with foam on the inside. - Finally, the price is very reasonable. The only thing I would recommend that they improve is that they should include instructions in the box, or even just a QR code to online instructions on the "thank you" card that they include in the box. I have to admit I looked at the knife holder and it took me a while to make heads or tails of it. It isn't obvious what the sides are to someone who hasn't seen pictures or a video of it in use. They are labelled 15 and 20 but I didn't know some sides were for small knives, other sides are for large. I realize now the Amazon listing has a video... But most videos on Amazon are terrible and a waste of time so I have to admit I don't usually watch them, and I didn't watch this one haha.
