Is there a 4 cube mold that can be purchased separately as an alternative to the ice ball mold?

I have the Tinana two-ball ice cube maker and love it! Super clear ice and I highly recommend. I'm not sure if this answer your question but they DO have a separate 4-cube/ball maker. The molds are not interchangeable. You either buy the 2-ball or the 4-ball. I hope that helps!

What is the correct way to insert the silicon molds? Should it be parallel or perpendicular to the plastic grooves in the container?

The mold handles go in aligned with the plastic bucket handles. Then those handles align with the small indentations on the styrofoam outer case.

Why do the videos make pulling the silicon molds out look so easy when in reality it's a real fight to remove them?

It is difficult sometimes, especially if it froze too much.

What is the exterior made of?

The exterior is foam like you would find in a cooler. The interior is plastic where the silicone mold goes into it.
