Perfect External Drive
Great price, great product, compact and light weight. I finally tested the product, and it works nicely. The setup is plug and play. There isn't any software to download before use; plug it into your laptop or desktop computer and your computer will read it. I did have to download the program to read the format of the content on the CD but nothing in relation to the CD/DVD player. It read my CDs/DVDs, SD card, micro-SD cards and USB flash drives with ease. It comes with an attached USB/C adapter, an additional USB/C Cord, along with a compact hard case for carry and storage, along with a soft velvet carry bag. I love carry cases because you can keep all of the components together. I am very happy with my purchase, now I can find the photos I previously could not find.

Expand Your Computer Easily!
I bought this item without any formal expertise and am completely pleased. It easily connected to my computer and worked perfectly immediately - no issues. I can now connect a mouse, USB drives, camera cards, printers, and anything else. The CD/DVD drive works well. The cabling is short so you must plan how to set up your system.I bought the case because I need to travel with it and appreciate that it is sized precisely to the drive, not adding unnecessary bulk. It is also sturdy and protective.I recommend this device to anyone needing more capabilities that their system offers.

Works with Linux Mint LMDE
I bought this in conjunction with a new mini-PC that I would be installing my first attempt at moving to Linux.I had concerns that I would have a lot of compatibility issues.I burned a DVD with Mint LMDE, connected this device to the USB C port on the Mini-PC.The device was recognized in the boot device menu, and performed flawlessly during my installation of LMDE.I have my UPS connected to It ant it appears to function well as a USB hub. I think the PC sees the UPS if I am interpreting the OS correctly. I think it is treating the UPS like a battery in a laptop.I have not used the SD card reader or the Mini-SD yet, but expect no issues. The device came packaged inside its sturdy case. The cable fits effectively and securely into the slot on the bottom.Iโm very happy with the product, especially for the price. It just works.

It's just so slow
Edit with an update: So I finally had a chance to try writing data to an SD card. It was only a small chunk of 9 gigs to an SD card that I've used daily without any issue. This device dropped the connection and corrupted my card, wiping it and everything on it requiring a format. So the drive literally just wiped out months of work. Don't buy this.So I've tried multiple ports, USB-C and USB-A, including ports that allow me to use flash drives at full speed - and this thing is so slow. The very first thing I did was plug it into USB-C and install a game... a game from 1998, one that is under 1 gig in size (950 megs) altogether. This device took me almost 2 hours.Swapped to USB-A and a different port, installed something even smaller 600 megs - took over an hour. It's hard to really get a read on the speed, but it's reading CDs at what appears to be about 4x speed. I haven't tried a DVD yet because I'll need to make sure I have a full day to set aside. Now, how can I isolate that it's the drive and not my PC? Because I can hear. This thing seems to spin up (zoom zoom) and then just stop (clunk), sit for a second reading, then spin up... and stop. I haven't tested all the ports yet, which is actually the reason I got this model over all the others, because I'm looking at if I'm going to keep it or toss it.Oh! And fun fact while thinking about it: I attempted to look up drivers, just in case Microsoft 10 forgot how these devices are supposed to work and the company that the drive appears to be made by doesn't acknowledge the drive on their website. It's an OptiArc AD-7700S and the company only seems to acknowledge up to the 5k series. So I have no idea if this is, indeed, an incompatibility thing but I doubt it as I'm not seeing a ton of reviews saying they are using Windows XP or 7.My screenshot is copying video files, 3 gigs of them, from a DVD to an m.2 drive. As can be seen, it was copying over at a MAX of 5 MBps, or 4X read speeds. This is all connected via USB3.

CD/DVD player & burner with docking station
This CD player/burner has been good. I was waiting till I had enough time to write this review with it. I bought it for the occasional times I may need a CD player burner for my laptop. My secondary reason was as a docking station. Plus it is a good price point. Cheaper than just a docking station. The Item was Cheaper than a docking station plus I wanted with the added benefits of CDs & DVD's. I've had no issues. It's been a good product. Plus it has a c-cord and USB to connect to your computer & run. The hard shell case is nice. Everything is padded well inside and fits nice & snug. The docking port features on it is what really drew me in like I stated. Even though my newer computer has all these ports too they're more accessible to be plugged in quick. Especially if I want to use 1 of my C-ports and quickly plug something in to share it. It's well made whith a good price and has all the extra features and ports you can use on top of what you already have probably. It's not a Blu-ray player but it can handle all of your CD & DVD- R & RW needs. ๐, Good value!

Able to see photos on our CDs
The new computer doesnโt have a CD drive! Now I can see our old photos again. Very nice piece with a great case.

Excellent price per quality ratio.
Worked like a charm, the photo showed more cables, but I guess it was to show the number and type of connectors, but I am very happy with the performance of the CD/DVD player...

Highly Recommend!
I purchased this to use for my laptop at work. I am an English teacher and often show films to supplement the curriculum. My work laptop came without a built in DVD player, so this is perfect. It works well and is easy to use. Love the protective case for storage when it is not in use and the price was good. Highly recommend!

Does what it is supposed to.
Easy to use and does the job. So easy it took me a while to figure it out. One drawback, it insists on alphabetic order if you want to use it for music, songs. On a portable or PC, when the list is ready simply click on the ''external drive (F) or (E)'' and then do a right click and follow through.
