Excellent for your home security setup no monthly fee very intuitive very customer friendly
Excellent and required for your eufy home setup for security. I can't say enough good things about these guys. In the beginning I had connectivity issues and they respond immediately inside the app they'll email you, I'm very happy with it I have a drug dealer in criminal living next to me in my apartment building and I had one of his people trying random keys in my lock I couldn't believe it so I got my whole home set up eufy and it's been amazing a piece of mind is back I can leave the house again without worrying someone's going to break in I have two devices connected to mine I had such a good experience with my eufy doorbell and the home base I expanded and got a pan and tilt internal camera that can continuously record and you can manage all this from the home base. Like I said I can't say enough good things about these guys I just had a really bad traumatic heart surgery a while back and I wasn't in fighting form and I live in an area that's kind of questionable as far as the people living directly around me this is brought a lot of Peace of mind to my life there's so much functionality here I can't go through it all it's amazing you can expand the storage so I got an SATA drive I think I went with the two terabyte for a good price it slides right in so expanding is not a problem and the best part is the people will reach out to you if you have any trouble with it like they are good about it. There are no monthly bills you can opt for things like a video archive so you can continuously record and you can even get 24-hour monitoring but you really in my opinion you don't need to go that far with it just buying this you can integrate it into your home Wi-Fi and you can monitor it yourself when you're away through an app and like I say it doesn't cost a cent won't you buy it you're set up that's what I like they put you in charge now I opted for a year of off-site storage and it was pretty inexpensive I think was a few bucks for a whole year and like I said that's an option you don't even got to pay anything once you got this if you got a Wi-Fi in your home you got it under control you can sit for like all kind of things different profiles so how all of your security items will behave like how they behave when you're away how they behave when you're out of town how they behave when you're home and you can program it all these different ways and it's a pretty straightforward situation once a very small learning curve I'd say when you're into the heart of day two you'll have it pretty much figured out and mastered by day three and that's not just on it 24/7 when you first get it you're going to you're going to learn it of course but in a couple days you're going to have the whole thing set up and you'll be a heck of a lot more secure you can literally watch your cameras live while you're in the store away from your home, you can flip between camera feeds like I have one inside and one on my door I want it all through the home base 3, and I'll just check the door check inside it is it good thing. Very happy customer and I have and do recommend it to my friends and family. It's like ring but without having a monthly fee pretty Sharp

Great Camera System!
So far so good, we've had them for a few weeks now and they work very well, NO annoying pop ups to buy the monthly subscription, there were a few things to tweak in the system to extend the clip times etc, but found it very user friendly and easy to customize it to my preferences. Best of all is the outstanding clear picture that we get, even on the 2K cams, like I bought. We bought the Homebase S380 and three S220 outdoor solar cameras, we added a water alarm too, you can add up to 16 devices, a battery back up so you don't lose cameras in a power outage, and even an external hard drive for extra storage, though for the average homeowner the 16 gig the Homebase comes with is really plenty for most people's use in my opinion. The Solar S220s are keeping their charge very well. It's a very simple, user friendly, affordable system with no monthly fees, very happy with my purchase.

More storage, easier to manage IMHO
I should note, that I am only a week into usage after my purchase and setup/install of the cameras and Homebase. If anything collapses and my cameras assist Skynet in the takeover on August 29, 2025, then I'll update later. I ordered the S380 Homebase to accompany three Eufy S340 Solocams. Then I ordered a Samsung 870EVO 1TB SSD. Hooking up the Homebase was a simple as a) installing the app on my iPhone 15Pro Max. b) plugging the ether-net cord into my router and then into the Homebase c) plugging the Homebase into a power source and d) following the instructions in the app to gain access to the Homebase and the cameras (pushing the sync button, scanning the QR codes on the base and cameras). I cannot vouch for anyone else's experience, as I have only mine, but the walk-through on the app was straightforward and worked easily. I had no issue getting the Homebase to recognize my router and then getting the Homebase to recognize the cameras. Even after I accidentally turned off the power to it, it was nothing more than ensuring that it was plugged back in. Less than two minutes later, all cameras were communicating with the Homebase again and I could run through the menus and playbacks without a problem. Installing the extra storage drive - on the face of it - was super easy. Just unplug the base, attach the drive and slide it back into the base. The Homebase recognized my SSD right away (Use the app to check the status and whether or not it 'sees' it), and all I had to do after that was format it. Boom, I have enough storage I won't have to worry about it for an extended period. Again, I cannot speak to anyone else's issues, but my set up and experience so far has been seamless. I do wonder if firmware updates have resolved some of the issues other folks experienced. So far so good and I have no complaints at the moment. I do believe that having your router centrally located in your home will help with connectivity. Also, I noted that by simply moving the Homebase out from BEHIND a TV and instead to the left of it and thus closer to two cameras, connectivity improved immediately for one camera. Knock on wood, ALL three cameras are solidly connected. This system was a relatively easy choice for me. I had two people I trust recommend it. It was on par with or a little less than other brands with similar capabilities and features (Nest, Ring, Arlo). There is no subscription fee and with the ability to dramatically upgrade storage, you likely will never need cloud storage if you're just using it for home security (I would say a business might have different needs). Not having to pay a subscription fee will (albeit slowly) offset the cost of the system and SSD I purchased.

Nothing but problems
Within the last 6 months I've had nothing but issues with eufys software and specifically the homebase 3. I don't think the hardware in this is capable of handling what the software is trying to get out of it. My home base constantly loses connection to devices, will at times be unable to load any of my cameras and within the last 6 months records blurry videos that smear as objects move by. Picture this, you get a notification that someone has been spotted, then your doorbell rings. You try to open the notification to see who it is, but you can't connect to your camera to load the video. The doorbell rings again so you try tapping the doorbell notification and it doesnt load. Someone has been standing at your door now for 30 seconds and you have no idea who it is, do you open it? It's the entire point of a security system, to be able to record and view footage quickly and clearly. Within the last 6 months I've noticed a number of problems. From about January 2026 to March 2026 all of the cameras I own ( 2 S220's, 2 S340's, doorbell and S4) all had issues with battery. Homebase 3 updated and was causing every camera to ping it's sensors non stop. I had just purchased the S4 and the battery was fine for about 2 weeks until the home base updated, and then my fully charged, sitting in the sun S4 would lose full battery in 16 hours with minimal recording. Every camera I owned was affected and draining constantly, but not nearly as fast as the brand new S4. Eufy eventually pushed out a new update to fix the issue but there was a good two month period where I essentially didn't have a camera system because they would lose a charge within one business day. Since December 2025 my videos have been inconsistent. I manually set recordings to 2 minutes and not to end early. Lots of videos are random intervals, 54 seconds, 1 minute 20 seconds etc. When you go to watch the video it starts out okay, then starts skipping, essentially deleting 2 seconds out of every 1 second. This is exceptionally frustrating when someone you don't know is at your house, or is walking by that shouldn't be there, and your video evidence is essentially useless. I had an instance where I was working in my backyard and dropped a small tool I couldn't find. I thought hey why don't I just watch the camera footage to see exactly where I had it last and can help find the tool. Went to watch footage and the video it recorded showed 1 second out of every 3 and skipped past where I had the tool. Worthless. For whatever reason, in the last few weeks I've noticed that certain clips aren't being recorded at all. I got a notification there was a pet spotted in my backyard, so I walked out to see what it was and found a cat snuck in through my fence. It left, I went to check the video and it wasn't there. Never recorded, never saved. Gone As of December 2025 when the cameras record, the motion in th video smears. It's most noticable on the S4 camera, but all of my cameras do it. So some solicitor is walking up to your front door, and the only video you have recorded is a big smear moving across the screen, then it snaps back to clarity where a few seconds later it smears again. This is currently unresolved and has affected all of my cameras since December. It's likely from the homebase. I have 5 cameras, the doorbell and the S4 at my home, spent tons of money and the software seems to only be getting worse. There is clearly an issue with the homebase 3 that isnt being addressed here and I'm tired of hoping things get better. I'd really like to see some results.

The ultimate smart home hub โ Zero subscriptions and local AI power!
If you want to unlock the full potential of your eufy security setup, the HomeBase 3 (S380) is an absolute must-have. Here is why it easily deserves 5 stars: No Monthly Subscriptions: The main reason I got this. Having built-in local storage means complete control over my data and zero ongoing monthly fees. Expandable Storage: You arenโt stuck with limited space. The option to easily add a 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD for expanded storage gives total peace of mind for continuous recording. BionicMind AI: The facial recognition and smart detection are spot on. It learns over time, accurately categorizing people and reducing unnecessary motion alerts. Seamless Connectivity: It pulls all eufy devices together into one fast, stable, and unified ecosystem without relying on external cloud processing. If youโre running eufy cameras or doorbells, upgrading to the HomeBase 3 is a complete game-changer. Excellent performance and worth every penny!

Local Centralized Video Storage Plus Some Added Functionality
This provides a mechanism to store video and things centralized locally. Other options are on the web (for a fee) or on a storage card on each device itself (not centralized). You have to add a disk drive if you want any significant amount of storage (an additional cost). Over time, this should be cheaper than web storage, and has more privacy. Some other companies (Ring) may allow the police to view your videos without your knowledge. Using the HomeBase also opens up some other features. For example, you can set a "Home" and "Away" mode for all your connected devices in one place. Or to disable them all at once. If I'm out in the yard working, I can disable things so I don't get continual notifications. I generally have Home set up to notify only, and Away to also record video. There is also a Geofencing option, that gets set to Home presumably when someone with the eufy app is within some radius, and set to Away when no one is within the radius. However, I have not been able to get this to switch mode and it is listed as "new". I really like this idea, and I hope either I can figure out what I did wrong or eufy can correct things. Part of the reason I dinged this a star. This can also provide a chime for eufy doorbells. Otherwise, you have to purchase an eufy chime to get a ring inside. I first bought a floodlight camera. Then I added another couple cameras and the HomeBase. I added the HomeBase, then the new cameras. That was pretty straight forward. But adding the existing floodlight camera to the HomeBase was not intuitive. I called them on a weekend, and got an AI assistant, that was not able to help enough. They followed up with an email, with the same imperfect directions. I had updated everything to the latest firmware, so you would think this would have been an easy task. They were not telling me the right place to look, which was not obvious (Edge Connection). I was disappointed in having to use an AI with no person backup (presumably there is in normal business hours - but who calls then?). And email followup still didn't help enough. So customer support gets a bit of a ding for all this also. If you only have 1 camera, this device may not be worth it. It doesn't help enough with added functionality for just the singe device. And either storing things on the device itself or on the web ($3 for 1 camera at this time) is more cost effective. But, the added functionality, privacy, and web fee savings over time, make this a nice option.

Laptop hard drives are too hot for the homebase and may cause it to stop recording
Happy with the homebase paired with my eufy e340. I had a problem with the base failing to record after several days. This turned out to be caused by overheating from the laptop hdd i had added to the base. The laptop hdd was too hot to touch when i removed it from the base. Once i replaced the hdd with an ssd the base has been working flawlessly. Its a shame because the instructions specifically say a hdd is ok to use. But in my case it was too hot. Overall i am happy with the performance after i have upgraded it to the ssd.

Loving it !
I love this Eufy system anchored with Homebase 3. Easy to set up and works well. I set it up wired directly to the router which ensures it maintains a very strong connection to the other connected items in the ecosystem. I recommend it to others seeking to seeking to have a no subscription system and control over your data.
