FAULTLESS Hot Iron Cleaner, 28 g

After reading the mixed reviews I wasn't expecting it to be as efficient as it was. The key thing is to have the iron as hot as possible and to apply the paste to a thick cotton towel and use pressure to rub the sole plate hard . Yes it melts, smokes and runs (but i was prepared for that) - the smoke and smell only lasts for a few minutes. The result - a perfectly clean sole plate - I even used it on a 6 year old Tefal steam generator iron and the sole came up like new.It does what it says - just read the instructions.

It is absolutely effective. I was on amazon trying to buy a new iron and that was when I came across this product. I tried my luck and it didn't disappoint. My old iron is shining again and I have saved some quids.

After annoyingly dropping my brand new steam iron on our newish carpet and ruining it, but the carpet is a different story! My iron had all burnt carpet fibres stuck to the plate! I bought this and followed the instructions and it worked by removing all the burnt carpet and staining, with only a few stubborn miniscule marks remaining. You must use a 100% cotton cloth, I used an old wash mitt and the iron must be hot when you apply the cream or else it will not work, so make sure the cotton cloth is thick so you don't scold yourself. You do have to work on the iron using your strength to clean in circular motions. Remember to ensure that you clean off the residue of cream from the plate and holes when you've finished and your good to go. The smell isn't strong or off putting. The cream is good value for money. However, it didn't work at all on my hair straighteners, so I would only recommend this product for an iron. The burn on my carpet, unfortunately can't be remedied and so I had to buy a rug to cover it up!

Brilliant stuff! Read the reviews and decided to purchase and give it a go. I used half the tube and it cleaned everything off the iron plate. Very impressed and saved buying a new one and yet more electrical waste.

It’s fine overall. However, please ensure you have a piece of 100% cotton cloth on hand to use this product. While this detail is included in the instructions, the text is so small that I had to use a magnifier to read it. It cleaned 70%.

Product that actually works. 4 stars because the tube is very small so will not last too many cleans but I would recommend the product.

Followed the instructions on the tube. Value for money. Highly recommend as it cleaned a few of my different irons perfectly. Does the job.
