FAULTLESS Hot Iron Cleaner, 28 g

This is an excellent product, which works exactly as described for cleaning a steam iron. I had tried several other things we had in the house (various cleaning sprays, nail varnish remover, etc) - none of them removed a meaningful amount of the residue on the iron. This cleaner removed all the residue and left the iron looking brand new in just a few minutes. A word of warning - there will be (some) smoke - I didn't find it excessive, but it was enough to set off my smoke alarm. If I had cleaned the iron under the extractor fan I would have avoided this. Definitely recommend the product - don't waste your time with other things, this works.

My iron was scorched over a year ago and I've been ironing with a big black mark. I didn't think this product would work, but it does and it's only used about 1/3 of the tube to clean the whole iron so it will do more than one cleaning. Very good. Use the iron hot and put the product on a COTTON cloth. Easy as

After annoyingly dropping my brand new steam iron on our newish carpet and ruining it, but the carpet is a different story! My iron had all burnt carpet fibres stuck to the plate! I bought this and followed the instructions and it worked by removing all the burnt carpet and staining, with only a few stubborn miniscule marks remaining. You must use a 100% cotton cloth, I used an old wash mitt and the iron must be hot when you apply the cream or else it will not work, so make sure the cotton cloth is thick so you don't scold yourself. You do have to work on the iron using your strength to clean in circular motions. Remember to ensure that you clean off the residue of cream from the plate and holes when you've finished and your good to go. The smell isn't strong or off putting. The cream is good value for money. However, it didn't work at all on my hair straighteners, so I would only recommend this product for an iron. The burn on my carpet, unfortunately can't be remedied and so I had to buy a rug to cover it up!

It’s worth buying, it does the job very well, l highly recommend this product to anyone who has problems with their iron. Absolutely no regrets.

Does what it says - have been using for years!

My iron was completely ruined with fusible interfacing residue, amongst other things. I tried the paracetamol trick but wasn't completely satisfied with the results so I ordered this product. It did take more product to clean it than I expected but it absolutely worked and the iron is clean once again, which I can assure you was no easy task. It did its job but worth noting it left my small sewing studio filled with smokey-steam (expected some but not as much) afterwards, so if I was using again I would definitely have a window open, it probably does suggest that somewhere in the instructions but I was just excited to try it out and only read basic information. It also did not smell bad in my opinion. 100% recommend this. Would happily buy it again when undoubtedly needed - although I have since discovered teflon sheets to protect both iron and ironing board from sticky things, so hopefully I will be having less of an issue with a dirty iron! The size of the tube is decent and I will get a lot more uses from it, with that in mind I think its very reasonably priced too.

It’s fine overall. However, please ensure you have a piece of 100% cotton cloth on hand to use this product. While this detail is included in the instructions, the text is so small that I had to use a magnifier to read it. It cleaned 70%.

Works a treat. My iron had black, hardened residue on base. Took the whole tube to get it off but it worked really well. Empty out water and make sure iron is on. I squeezed paste on with one hand and held iron so it was flat in the other. This allowed paste to sit on black residue and soak in before using a cotton cloth (old tea towel) to wipe it clean. Be careful you don’t burn your fingers!

I sew often so of course iron often. I find this stuff excellent. Easy to use and unbelievable what it takes off an even clean looking iron. The clean iron just glides over fabric!
