Easy to install. You have to pop the rod holders out bc they com backwards from the factory. Once you spin those around is a perfect fit. No more manhandlingnthe tailgate. Opens good as new. Nice metalmhandle not the cheap plastic kind.

This all-metal tailgate handle set fits my 1999 Chevy C2500 perfectly. The build feels sturdy and durable, a definite upgrade from the original plastic handles. The metal used is about half the thickness of the original. The contact surfaces barely stay aligned. The center rivet (where the arms are connected) allowed too much play. The handle will not retract the latches enough to release the gate. I tried to modify the unit to get it to function properly, but no joy. I wasted $26.00 dollars plus a few hours. Hopefully, you will read this review, and not waste your money and time. My suggestion would be to WD the old one and free it up.

It is made very well and didn’t cost much at all.

The assembly was machined a little outside original tolerances as the connecting rods became too long and would not fully withdraw the end catches and allow the tailgate to release. I had to modify some things to make the rods reach shorter than originally manufactured so the handle assembly would pull them in close enough to release the end catches. A 30 minute job ended up taking all morning.

Great fit and easy to install, tailgate works smooth as silk at long last after years of a broken latch. Quality seems excellent, was really glad it came with the small plastic latch-rod retainers as one of mine was broken. Even the inner surround was very thick plastic and had a very snug snap-in fit. Very pleased with it overall, and glad I didn't go with one of the cheaper all-plastic handles that get mediocre reviews at best. I found the best way to fit the inner surround was to leave the three large inner torx handle bolts loose so that the handle has some give, snake the inner surround in top-first, and snap the bottom in. Then give the torx bolts a final tightening.

What a fabulous piece of crap this is. If you want to waste your money I recommend it. Thin metal that bends when trying to unlatch the tailgate on first use. My neighbors children have now learnt a new vocabulary thanks to this quality piece of crap. If you want a tailgate handle that doesn’t unlock your tailgate then this piece of crap is for you. Don’t waste your money on this.

Not very happy with this tailgate handle assembly. product came bent. Had to do a lot of modifying to try and get it to fit and even after all that it is not 100% and return window is closed. Would not recommend getting this product.
