Looks really good. They send multiple bags of different color buttons so you can pick what goes where color wise. The tutorial video on their website is really helpful if you've never swapped shells before. Over all good quality, feels nice in your hands, seems durable, and was half the price as other sites I checked.

Looks awesome especially with an upgraded screen! Easy to assemble, only downside was the volume slider. I tried to swap the volume slider to the making one and the original snapped off, turns out it wasn't swappable on mine.

Dropped my original gba sp twice in a matter of days. Had to get replacement shell. Looked around, seen these and went for it. Followed the tutorial video and had no issues. Looks great, good quality. I used the original pads under the new buttons. All buttons are responsive. No issues with anything. Good quality.

Recently I pulled out my old SP and found out that my teenage self was kind of gross and not very gentle. Sticky caramelized soda in the switches, a deep scratches, loose hinge, missing buttons. I looked around online I saw that this brand was pretty highly recommended. After finding the style I liked in my price range I pulled the trigger. I followed a step by step video guide on how to disassemble my old sp and what I needed to keep and what I didn't (which is most of it). This kit has everything you need to transform your old and aging SP into a sleek personalized handheld gaming machine. In the box you get the shell, 3 styles of buttons, replacement screws, sticker, and tools. During the rebuilding portion I opted to install a new backlight screen which fit the top perfectly with no cutting or trimming required, just a drop and go process. The hinge parts were difficult to get in place and felt like I might honestly break something but with a enough finess they eventually fit. After that the installation goes quickly. The only other major hold up I had was with the battery cover. The two glaring issues I have are that there is very little tolerance and the cover almost has to bend to fit in place and the screw ..it takes more force/pressure whatever to get it in flush, probably because the cover fitment isn't great. The cartridge slot is another one of those made-slightly-too-perfect tolerances and games don't fit without a struggle. I tried a few times to ease in a game and it hangs up about half way. Eventually it'll go but you need to put some decent pressure to get it in. Overall it looks nice, the matte finish isn't my favorite, but it feels very sturdy and breathed some new life into an aged handheld from my younger years.

This might be a bit of a biased review, but I love all of eXtremeRate's products. They are high quality products that are made to fit. I love the material they are made out of as well. A real pleasure to hold. A couple of notes for this particular product. Yes, it comes with all the hardware needed to build the system with a couple of exceptions. 1st, it does not come with new hinge pins, only the covers. 2nd, it does not come with the circlip to retain the battery door screw. You will need to harvest these parts from the old system that you are reshelling. I actually harvested all the hardware from my old system because I wanted it to have a factory feel which means reusing the tri-wing screws. These screws, as far as I can tell, I never actually opened the bag of hardware so I am not sure, has been replaced with standard phillips head screws. It comes with a new SN label but not a battery door label, which can be ordered from etsy. For those of you who want the systems unique SN on your main label, you can also get one of those on etsy. As noted in the product description, the main board and screen do not come in the kit, it would be a lot more expensive if they did. It also does not come with a new glass for the screen. You can pick one of those up if needed on amazon. It also does not come with a battery. This is just a shell.

I love the details on this shell. The coppery faceplate, the print on the lid. The design details really bring the spirit of the Famicom. The case is painted, not molded like I had at first thought. I don't know if this will cause any issues, but the maroon paint is applied really well; even, matte finish that you wouldn't know was paint until you remove the screws and pop it open. The very last screw, for the battery cover, actually snapped in my first shell. The seller was friendly and helpful, and sent me a replacement. The buttons are lower profile and more matte than the original, so the tactile feedback is more subtle. Which kinda reminds me of the retro controllers honestly, but if that is a sticking point for you, you may want to use the OEM buttons. The installation is pretty easy with the video they put on YouTube. I had to go to the comments though to figure out the difficult part which is the rotating hinges. You can't put them in unless you open the lid, contrary to how the video shows it. Everything else is quite straightforward.

Modèle Classic 1989 GB DMG-01 Points positifs: - Kit très complet - Plastique de bonne qualité - Peinture soignée - Pas de défauts de fabrication - 3 jeux de boutons de couleurs différentes au choix - Bien emballé - De la visserie en plus Points négatifs - La qualité des tournes vis laisse à désirer, il vaut mieux en acheter de meilleur facture pour éviter d’abîmer les vis - Il manque la bague de rétention pour la vis du cache de la batterie. Elle n’était pas sur les photos donc c’est normal, mais son inclusion aurait été apprécié. Il suffit de récupérer celle du modèle d’origine donc ce n’est pas trop grave. En conclusion je recommande ce kit, la conversion est très simple et le rendu est excellent! À noter: il faut récupérer les charnières du modèle original, en plus de l’écran et du circuit imprimé.

Was very impressed on how well everything went together and the overall look of the finished product. Old silver case was in horrendous shape and didn't lose sleep on the OEM shell. Most definitely buy a different look for some of the others I have. Be sure to keep those old hinge pins for the display though. Different colors for the buttons as well, so mix n match to your preference
