Perfect for me! (Not for everyone.)
I love cold drinks with lots of ice, but I live in an area prone to tropical storms and flooding where "boil water" notices are frequent. So connecting an ice maker to a tap water source is ill-advised. Consequently, I was buying bags of ice at the store every week. With this unit I can use bottled water and make all the ice I want. It has been reliable so far, and has already paid for itself.I really like the bullet-shaped cubes. They melt slowly enough to keep drinks cold, yet crush more easily than large cubes or crescents when used in a blender.Although it wasn't a major factor in my purchase, I plugged the unit into an ECOFLOW portable power station and solar panel just to see how it functioned. It pulled 1.8 amps when making ice, and worked the same as it did on regular house current, confirming that I could use that setup to make ice while camping or during a power outage.Note: This is not a "set it and forget it" commercial ice maker. You fill the well with water, it makes 9 cubes about every six minutes, and dumps them into a basket (and yes, that makes some noise, of course). That basket is in an insulated compartment, but it's not refrigerated, so if you leave the ice in it as shown in the product photos, it will eventually start to melt (the water drips back into the well). With that in mind, I usually make ice while I'm a watching a game on TV or something, so I can get up and dump each batch of ice into a container in my kitchen freezer before it starts to melt (and refill the 1.2L water well if needed). After three or four hours, I have enough ice (10+ pounds) for the week. This unit was priced considerably lower when I bought it. I'm not sure I would have purchased it for the current $75 (lots of similar choices for less), but I'm glad I have it.

Not all ice is equal
This product has been great to use and solves the small-scale ice problemThere is a lot of attention to detail in the design and performance that work well. For instance, the electronic sensors eliminate the mechanical ice sensor that would be prone to breakage or just being in the way. The upright footprint works well fitting under cabinets wile minimizing counter spaceSome caveats from my experience.1 the first ice is ice, but not super cold ice — if you put it in a room temp drink it melts quickly. I recommend letting it run to let the first ice cool the chamber. I often put cold water in it give some cooling to the chamber2 even the large cubes are small and hollow. That means high surface area which is both an advantage and disadvantage3 note that this device isn’t really going to supply a group with ice. It’s great for two.4 it does put some warm air (it must to work). So, put it on the covered porch if that is a problem5 I find it perfect for the RV. I crank it up first thing and ice is ready just about when I am! Nothing like ice in your drink when it’s hot out. Or for a margarita!6 it is (obviously) sensitive to ambient temp. It produces much more ice it’s cool and the water you add is cool.7 many of these ice makers look basically identical, perhaps from the same factory. Whatever, I really like it and have used it continuously without any problems

Nice Lightweight Ice Maker
I received this Ice Maker the other day. It was packaged very nicely double boxed, and it was on its side, so I knew I had to let sit on the counter for a day before I plugged it in to use it. Once you put the handle on it to move it too where you need it, it is not that heavy. I love when you put the basket in the machine it has a handle; you have to install making it easier to take the basket out to fill the machine with water to start. This appliance takes about 8-13 minutes before it started making ice, but for me it was closer to 8 minutes, I guess it just depends on room temperature and water temperature. You can select the size of the Ice, small or large before you start, I selected large was a nice size for me. The larger size cubes kept my drinks cool for longer time, was good for me. It did not take long for the basket to fill up with ice, for me about 45 minutes. I would recommend this ice maker, nice price and good working order so far, I am very satisfied.

Makes ice cubes quickly
This is a great addition to our kitchen. It makes ice quickly and quietly. It’s the perfect size for counter, not too big. Made a giant Ziploc of ice within two hours of plugging it in. Our fridge‘s built in ice maker broke and this is a perfect solution vs buying ice bags at the market weekly!
