I'll be honest. I bought this welder to fix my mower deck, and in general, I want to learn how to weld, so I ordered this product. But with my busy schedule, I haven't had time to get to trying it out. My daughter's boyfriend saw it and was impressed with it. He is an experienced welder so I told him to take it home and check it out. He says it works great. Along with this product, I also needed to get a welding mask and other PPE separately. So keep in mind that you'll need those before you try your hand at welding. Hopefully I'll get a chance to fix my mower soon. But anyway, this seems like a well built, quality product.

This well made flux core welder exudes quality. It is priced almost twice as much as a low end basic flux core welder. The fit and finish however is excellent. The attention to detail is evident. It comes with ALMOST everything you need to get started. A roll of flux welding wire as well as a few welding rods to test out the stick welding end of this machine. The only thing it doesn't include is one of those cheap plastic snap together welding helmets. Possibly they figure if you're the kind of person that is going to buy their more expensive welder, you're already a welder, and probably already have a good welding helmet and wouldn't even use one of those. The grounding clamp, as you can see in the pic, is not a solid metal high quality clamp, but it is a little higher quality than some of the low end welders I've reviewed that often come with a cheaper less beefier version of that. I haven't tried stick welding with this one yet, but It welds fine using the flux core wire they include. Again, this one is a bit more expensive, but the quality shows and I think it's worth it.

I've never welded anything before, but with this and a few youtube videos, I was on my way in no time! I fixed my lawnmower's deck where it'd become separated. This welder works great, and it's super easy to start with. If you're on the fence, I say go for it!

I love this thing because it has a pretty nice arc for being a 110v unit. And it is super light. So I can throw it in the bucket of my tractor with a little generator and run around my property welding fences/gates and it is easy to carry around. I used to use my thunderbolt and stick everything. But this is really light and with flux core, it does a great job on thinner piping. I don't know exactly how cheaper units would compare to this one, but I am satisfied with this for what I need.

This really covers the bases for a weekend DIYer. I'm still in shock how light this is. Makes moving it around my garage a breeze. I wouldn't go entering any welding competitions with this, but it can provide a clean enough weld for most jobs. Price is very competitive.

This is one excellent and high quality portable welder in my opinion! It is very well made, solid, and durable throughout its construction while remaining a light enough weight to easily transport it around from job to job. The unit is simple to set up within minutes, and all the necessary cables and accessories were included. I have only tested it for welding a small area, but it worked great. Only time will tell how long it will last, but so far I am pleased with this product based on my initial impressions. Therefore, it receives the top five star rating from me!
