Are these hard to light? Other ones I had to use the stove because I thought it would drain the light fluid.

Our bricks are larger than most incense cones, making them a bit harder to light. The upside to this is that they burn longer and produce more incense. Hold the brick over a flame until the brick burns by itself. This will cause the brick to expand at the burning end. After the brick has stopped flaming, gently blow on the burning ember. Place the brick in the center of the censer (or incense burner), unlit end down. If the brick should fall over or is laid on its side, the flame may go out. Customer Support

I'm looking for incense with the sweet smell of a closed or freshly opened pinion pine cone. Does the wood incense have a sweet scent?

This Pinon incense smells exactly as if I'm in the Southwest. I personally don't think of it as sweet smelling. I truly smell Pinon wood. I think you'll love this. Especially around the Holidays, I use it a lot and I'm always complimented on the smell of my home even after a few days of not lighting one to burn.

Can I use these bricks in my indoor fireplace with other wood?

Think of our incense as miniature pieces of firewood. They are 1" in length by .25" in width by 1" in height. We recommend burning these incense using an incense holder. Customer Support

Favorite incense.

This incense smells so amazing. Transports you to a campfire! I like that it’s not soaked in fragrance, and rather the smell is truly the ground sawdust burning I believe. Takes a little effort to light, tilt it sideways and allow the lighter flame to burn it for like 5-10 seconds. Let it burn and self extinguish on its own after a few seconds.

Smells good, likes to fall over

These smell good, but they are shaped like a brick, and getting them to stand up is tough. I have to lean them against the side of my incense burner. It's not a deal breaker, though; they burn well once you get them situated. It would be nice if they were shaped like a cone. Cone-shaped incense is popular for a reason...

Wood fired cedar sauna

I spent a lot of time looking into natural incense, and FINALLY settled on this one. Zero regrets! It’s amazing. I’ll try out the other woods as well, but you truly cannot go wrong with the cedar! It threw me off a little when everyone mentioned it smelling like a campfire. Campfires are smokey and I was worried this would be the case with these. It’s much more like wood stove or a wood burning cedar sauna.

Fire Without a Fireplace

I absolutely LOVE the smell of a wood fire. I love when my clothes and hair smell like it after sitting out by one for a few hours. I have no fireplace, and at this time of year when it's too cold to enjoy being outside for long, this is the next best thing. I was a bit wary at first, because I've never burned cedar wood and thought that this might smell like a hamster cage on fire, but fear not - it smells delightful! When my husband and his friend came in they were impressed by how good it made the house smell (the friend ordered his own that night, and I'm getting some for my brother for Christmas). The only downside is that it doesn't last longer - about 23 minutes. Crank the heat, snuggle up, and combine this incense with a 10-hour YouTube video of a crackling fire and some candles and your home will be exceptionally cozy this winter!

Smells great but inconsistent

I've been buying these for years and I love the smell, have always been 5 stars for me. The most recent batch looks VERY different than previous. Color is not the pink you expect from the Cedar, burns down WAY too fast and the scent is less fragrant. Hoping it was a one-off issue or that my order was mispackaged.

Great cedar aroma without chemical overtones.

It is difficult to find a cedar incense that doesn't have a chemical smell, but these bricks are great! A nice gentle, clear fragrance distinctly cedar, without any other smells. The bricks light easily, and burn about 15 minutes. Definitely a winner!
