How are these compared to under armor base?

My son wears under armor and they fit snugger than the Carhartt. Carhartt fabric is softer and has more of a cotton feel than the athletic sportswear feel. The Carhartt does keep my husband warm. He is happy with them. Sizing is accurate.

Are these warm enough to be outside most of the day in 10-20 degree weather??? My husband wears long underwear under jeans, but doesn't like coveralls
