Best camera I've ever owned
I’ve been running the ZV-E1 as my primary studio and field rig, and it's hands-down the most capable compact full-frame camera I’ve used. The video I capture makes me look like a much better photographer than I am. Almost everything on this camera is automatic or has an auto feature which is great for people who are just learning. This is hand down one of my favorite purchases ever. Truly my dream camera.

great camera for content creators
this camera is amazing for content creation it has the same sensor and low light capability as the fx3!

Was unsure at first, but really loving this camera.
Was hesitant because of all the overheating talk. But it's definitely a keeper for me. I already own an a7s 3 and FX3 so I'm familiar with the sensor. I'm not using this as a vlog camera, instead I wanted the same quality in a smaller form factor for travel and lighter run and gun setup. The AI is a plus but marginally better than what we already had in terms of autofocus. I've had pretty great results with the older object tracking already. Dynamic active stabilization was pretty clutch a few times when tracking forward/back. Less reliable for horizontal/pan type movements.Overheating, I used it over the weekend in 80 degree weather in a real shoot from 12pm till 4pm, mostly 4k 24p and sprinkled in some 4k 60p and did not encounter any overheating the way I would normally use it.I was able to get it to overheat in 4k 60p in a controlled setting, recording around 30 minutes. I also updated to 4k 120p and that overheated around 15 minutes. Again doesn't bother me for my use case. I also tested in 4k 24p and the battery drained before overheating, so I could use this as a 3rd camera long format recordings like a podcast. The built-in mic is convenient, but not that great, however if you know how to post process audio you can get pretty good results.Only thing I wish it had was an evf, even if it's a lower res version.I also got the white one... which was the only one ready to ship in time for my shoot, didn't want this color either but it's starting to grow on me.

Overheating makes this camera an absolute joke.
I received this camera today. I don't shoot professionally, and I know cameras at this price bracket are probably overkill for what I use them for. That being said, this camera is an absolute joke.I immediately charged it, put in an SD card, and started taking some video. I took less than 25 minutes of video total. I shot maybe 15 of those minutes on 4k60, literally the only real selling point on this camera in my opinion. I then maybe shot 10 minutes of 4k24 in cinematic mode or whatever. The camera actually froze and lost a video in cinematic mode after recording 1 minute. It overheated in 4k60 in about 7 minutes. I shot hand held in an ambient temperature of 71 degrees. I know some reviewers got videos far longer without overheating, and maybe some of that had to do with using a tripod, but this is an absolute joke.I had originally planned on putting this in a cage, given the fact the camera itself has the ergonomics of a power brick, probably similar thermal regulation as well, and this might solve the issue. I don't really want to risk that though, and this is a ridiculous issue at this price point.Aside from that, on a more subjective level, the colors really are not that good and the interface sucks.I will probably end up getting the S5IIX when it comes out and just deal with the 1.5 crop in 4k60. I really am taken back by how terrible my experience with this camera was.

Amazing
This camera is over criticized and underrated. The people who talk bad about it never owned one and only reiterated what online reviewers said without actually using it. This camera has taken me through travels in the deserts of Texas, whole day music video shoots, and several sets. Not once has it overheated. This camera's power is underestimated not only with it's beautiful sensor, but also the features it has like it's mic (the best onboard mic I've had on a camera) the ai auto framing, the variable shutter, and the stabilization. Also, it's form factor is perfect because you can make it as small or big as you want with a cage. This camera has changed my life, not only in film-making, but how I see the world, and how I can use this tool to show it.I heard a lot of reviews online about the camera overheating, but I never had that issue. Honestly, even if it did, the beauty of this camera's sensor beats everything, from the dual native ISO to the amazing SLog 3 profile. I love the small form factor that helps me when traveling, documenting, and even gives more flexibilities on film sets. I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who is interested in leveling up their videos and photos.

Great camera for content creation
Great camera. A lot of people worries about the overheating, but you have to be recording in 4k in a hot hot environment for that to happen. Love this camera

Excellent idea for a camera, some shortcomings
The camera is excellent and the video quality amazing. It is only 12mp but that may be all you need for online sharing. The AI features are great if you are a content creator, probably useless for some video focused pros. The camera is not for pros though so keep that in mind. I will alert you all though about something that happened with my unit. After 4 weeks of use, the LCD screen started to detach from the frame at the bottom left corner. Although the screen was working correctly, I contacted Sony support immediately and they asked me to send the camera in for repair under warranty. For this price, I find that issue unacceptable. Not sure what's going on with Sony quality but this may be a sign they may be cutting corners in order to get these "compact" bodies manufactured. To make matters worse, the parts are backordered so I am now looking at 2-3 weeks without a camera. So there you have it, a $2,685.35 camera sitting at Sony Repairs waiting for parts and a loyal Sony customer without options. I would have returned the camera to Amazon instead but sadly I am out of the return window.
