Pros:-Video quality for the price-Record and playback options-Easy to use software despite looking outdated-Decent night vision-Option for 2 additional cameras-Working app-Small box-Option for either a 3.5" or 2.5" driveCons:-Night vision could be better but is expected for the priceI had a single security camera before this in which the mobile app controlled everything on the camera. Recording did not work however along with other features of the app, so I thought I would try one with a separate recording box. Recording using the DVR box works perfectly. I installed my own Hard Drive, then set it to record 24/7 in 15 minute segments. Having the option to choose the length of segments is a welcome feature which is very useful. Playback on the DVR box onto a monitor works flawlessly, with the app working great as well with only a slight bit of delay. You can open the app, go into playback, then rewind the video all the way until the start of the recording (00:00 for me due to the 24Hr recording) which is very handy. The start is also not the start of a segment but for the time frame which is great. Different days of recording can also be viewed on both the box and the app as well.The quality of the cameras is as expected for the price. The cameras are clear enough for seeing the face of a person during the day, but not so much at night. The video becomes very grainy and much lower resolution. It is still good enough to see people moving and their actions, as well as any objects being moved. The night vision brightens the video nicely and allows you to see even though it is close to complete darkness. 2 cameras being included for the price is great.Installation was simple. I have both cameras installed on different sides of my shed, one showing the front garden, the other the back. I had to drill a hole for both which the camera goes covers with the cables going straight through, coming from the bottom of the camera. I am unsure of the exact length of the cables (I think they could be 30m) but I came nowhere near to using the whole length. The cable has 2 connectors: one for video, the other for power which go into the camera. The video at the other end connects directly to one of the 4 video ports on the box, then the power into the power cable. There is a single power brick for up to 4 cameras: it has a cable leading from it with connectors for 4 cameras. I used a 240GB 3.5" drive but a 2.5" drive can be installed as an alternative as there are screw holes for both. The box is also very small, similar to a Sky+ box so does not require much room.The software on the DVR recorder looks outdated compared to modern software, but is simple to use and very functional. Everything is in locations that are easy to find and use and there are many different features that can be used and changed to how you wish. i have not tried the motion detection as it is not something I require so I cannot comment on the effectiveness.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase for the price. The video quality during the day is great, though it could be better at night. Setup was simple with the option for adding 2 more cameras in the future and the software on the box is outdated, but effective. Recording works flawlessly, with playback being very functional and I have not had any issues with the app.

I purchased the 4 channel version, only requiring 2 cameras to cover the front of our property.Items were packaged well in multiple cardboard boxes, fitting neatly inside 1 box, all leads were supplied for connecting Sansco equipment (I didn't need the camera leads for my install) The only other lead required is an HDMI lead to the TV/Monitor.My system was wired a short while ago in cat 5 cabling to a central location and this was utilised and not the supplied camera cabling- this has no adverse effect on image quality.Its plug and play and easy to install, all metal construction, good build build.My recorder required a hard disk to be installed, ( I installed a 1TB drive) a few screws to remove the cover, 4 screws to fix the hard drive to the base of the unit and 2 cables from the recorder plugged in ( they are different size/type and can only be plugged in the correct way)My cameras (dome type-nice and discrete about tennis ball size) were connected via baluns on cat 5 and quality is as expected 1080P.Recorder is easy to operate and navigate, with the supplied mouse.Delighted with purchase.I will be buying another for another project, cabling limitations meant it was easier to have 2 units than lift floorboards through multiple rooms etc.

Item works fine provided you are only connecting via App at home on Wifi! Cannot connect via app at home or away from home on mobile network!

Very impressed with the system, very easy to set up with excellent picture quality - only had the system a few days but so far everything works perfectly. At the moment would highly recommend - only downside I can see is that the night vision could be better.

Broke after a year

Firstly, I'm not an expert in this field, so wanted an easy to use, entry level system. Recommend that you purchase the suggested hard drive if you want to record. Anyway, was relatively easy to install and set up. I had a couple of technical questions which were promptly answered by email.Well, no sooner had I got this set up, when 2 of our neighbours were burgled. We reviewed the footage and saw the 2 scumbags come into our back garden, then they notice the camera and leg it!Only downside is that you will need to have a media converter on your Mac or PC to convert the H264 files (from the DVR) to a readable MOV or MP4 file.Decent picture quality day & night and the Police now have our footage. Sadly scumbags still at large.

The camera system is very simple to set up and very effective. Simply pop open the case (easy to do) and insert a compatible hard drive into the unit. The software on board is very intuitive and within 20 minutes of initially turning it on, I had it up fully running. The system has been up and running for a few months now without issues.The quality of the cameras themselves is good and we get a nice picture returned to us on the screens. All in all, the product comes recommended.

Im impressed with the quality of the equipment, the pictures and the range are excellent. I have however only given an overall 4 stars, as its badly let down by the brackets these can only be fitted to a wall looking straight ahead with a degree of downward movement there is no facility to angle them left or right. which most people would need to do, As i needed to do this i had to make my own brackets .Not everybody has the equipment to do this.
