RSHTECH USB C/3.2 to Ethernet Adapter with 3x 10Gbps USB Data Ports

Needed to expand the USB ports facility for the desktop, so decided to buy this based on good reviews, and found it to be very handy indeed and great at expanding the USB ports requirements to our desktop !The lights on the hub flicker showing the sending and receiving of information to and from the hub of plugged-in devices, USB peripherals, etc. Good for showing that it's operating. The separate light for each port also shows when it is switched on or off via the push button switch for each port.Being powered is a great advantage for maintaining sufficient power to various plugged in devices and peripherals that require power without putting a strain on the desktop USB power source.Our old un-powered 4 port USB hub was great for what it was doing in the past, but now this powered replacement was needed to expand the USB facility to the desktop without leaving the added plugged-in peripherals short of power. A great improvement there !Good solid feel to this 7 port powered hub, good cable length to reach the desktop USB 3.0 port at the back of the desktop without having the hub too close to it. Nice push button feature to turn on and off each port as needed, overall - a pretty decent USB hub replacement for our old 4 port un-powered USB hub ! This USB powered hub also negotiates the power requirements for each device providing sufficient power for the average powered device or peripheral that could be used with it. Because each port can be switched off if not needed it also leaves the hub the ability to manage power to devices or peripherals that require power. A good buy !Almost forgot - this is backwards compatible as expected with earlier USB's etc. But do check before purchasing that this is compatible with your peripherals and devices to be plugged in and is fit for your needs !Excellent delivery from Amazon as usual, thanks !5 Stars !

Ran out of ports on my main setup and needed a permanent fix. This metal hub feels solid on the desk and doesn't slide around when you plug things in.It works a treat for keeping everything connected. The best bit is definitely the individual power switches. You just press the button next to the port to turn a device off instead of pulling the cable out every time. The blue lights let you know instantly what is live.One thing to watch out for is the main data cable. It is a bit on the short side. If your PC tower sits on the floor, you might struggle to get the hub to sit comfortably on top of your desk without buying a longer cable.Apart from that, it is dead easy to use. No messing about with drivers or setup. Just plug in the mains adapter and it runs external hard drives and card readers with no dropouts. Solid bit of kit.

Seems to work very well. It's just what I needed. However, be aware that the lead out of the plug/transformer emerges at the top - by the earth pin. Indeed, it's shown in the picture. This will present problems if you're using a 'head-to-head' gang block.

Having used RSTech hubs in the past and found them to be well made and reliable, I had high expectations for this 7 Port USB 3.0 Hub and I wasn't disappointed.First impressions were very good. This is available from Amazon - I don't think I shop anywhere else these days so availability on this platform is important - and at a good price.The packaging is mainly recyclable which is really imnportant - just a couple of plastic slips for the unit and mains adapter - and is neat and attractive.This is a great example of "you get what you pay for" and for around £30 on a deal at Amazon, the unit is really well made with nice lines, a mirror-shine top and metallic trim. RSTech have gone for a less angular approach to this unit that ones I have owned in the past and it's an improvement - neat and functional. And it feels strong and well made.This version has touch on/off buttons for each port, which is great, plus really bright LED indicator lights for when a port is on - something I have found to be a bit lacking in older models.The addition of a 14 mode RGB light strip around the edge of the base of the unit doesn't add to the functionality (although it makes it easy to find in a dark room perhaps!) but it certainly adds to the fun and aesthetic of this hub - I like this feature.In use, it does exactly what it is meant to do; be a good quality USB hub, efficiently and competently. As this is a new unit, I don't know how long it will last for, but if my other RSTech hubs are anything to go by, it will be a very long time - I have confidence in this brand's build quality.There are a couple of improvements I think RS Tech could still make to this and other similar units.Although reassuringly weighty, the USB and 5v adapter wires are stronger can tend to "steer" the hub where I don't want it to go either on my desk or on top of my computer meaning that it slides around a little. The addition of some self adhesive hook & loop tape as a fixing option would be a nice touch.The other change I would make is in the plug type (UK). This unit has one of those plugs that seems to be upside down and too big, so if it is being used with a block adapter in the wall it is quite tricky to get it to fit - a much smaller plug would be welcome.On balance though, these minor downsides are made up for several times over by the quality and utility of this hub - it has already become a very welcome addition to my computer setup. I have a lot of peripherals that plug into this hub - drawing tablet, Streamdeck, extra tablet (as a second screen), wireless mouse and keyboard, a card reader and an external hard drive - all work flawlessly through it - I am a happy customer.

Well made, neat design - has performed well in the several months I have had it. The switchable feature for the ports is very useful. Matches the excellent quality I have found with other RSHTech products.

A small robust & well-manufactured device that packs a huge punch with 3 x 10Gb ports, 2 x USB C, 1 x USB A, & 4 x 5GB USB A ports a total of 7 ports, the little booklet provides clearly in good English everything you need to know to use it.I purchased this for use in my Campervan, I shoot 8K & 4K videos & record videos & photographs on a multitude of electronic devices and the RSHTEK RSH-T17C 7 X USB Ports will make my life easier & digital transfers faster. But I have transferred all my Blue Ray disks to Hard drives and will use this hub to stream movies in my van.Let me explain, I was born in the mid 50’s & like an old car, I've got a lot of wear & tear, arthritis in my thumbs being a major issue, So removing the tiny 512Gb & 1Tb SD cards from the cameras & drones is a nightmare, frequently pinging across the floor.So I mostly transfer video and photos using the USB C port on the device. the 3 x 10Gb ports will make my life much easier saving half the time of my current USB hub. I expect to leave my AcePro cameras connected all the time as they discharge even when not used.I highly recommend this product.

Please note that the external drives contain NVME Solid State Drives and the drives used were a StoreJet Transcend and an RSHTech RSH-329.File used in testing is a single 5.81 GB video file in MKV format(all average speeds rounded to nearest whole number)Although not an expert in these matters, I note the following results from my simple tests:Pros1. Although I was very happy with overall results I noted a slight decrease in speed when copying from the Storejet Transcend external device to my Samsung PC (using the intermediary USB Hub), to me this is acceptable as it gives my Single USB-C Samsung port an additional 2 USB ports PLUS a 1GB Ethernet port for when there is no WiFi available.2. I noted an increase in speed when using the Hub to copy FROM my Samsung tablet to both external drives - this surprised me but as I'm not an expert I don't know why this should be so.Cons - the only downside for me is that the USB-C port on the hub doesn't act as a power pass-through.In my case, the advantages of the additional ports outweigh any cons in relation to speed and power pass-through.The price especially is great value for money as the Samsung own brand port extender weighs in at a whopping £50 plus price tag!

I picked this thing up because I had a Hori arcade stick that wouldn't work with a USB extension cable. I assumed the issue was lack of power, so I got this since it has its own supply for charging.Here's the most important point- if, like me, you only need this to connect things like controllers, you don't need the power adaptor. Mine's still in the box, and the hub will happily run a Razer Wolverine and the Hori with no problem. (I suppose YMMV depending on the spec of the USB port you plug the hub into)That aside, this isn't the most attractive device ever, and for my money the included cable, which has a non-standard end that connects to the hub, could be a bit longer. It also has no mounting hardware, just sitting on four little rubber screw covers, one of which is missing from my unit. Without adding some sort of bracket, you can't mount it to a desk or wall, and since it's quite light and USB cables tend to be a bit hefty, it's unlikely to sit flat. Mine's currently held down with blu-tack, double-sided tape might be a cleaner option. The buttons to control each port feel a bit cheap, but they work, and they sit up when off so you can tell by touch which ones are on. When the PC is on, activated sockets also have a little blue LED which is bright enough to see without messing with your colour scheme too badly.I've not tested this as a device charger, so I'd recommend other reviews if that's what you want it for. But as a useful way to move your ports, add more ports, and allow you to switch off unneeded devices, it's very decent.
