Global G-3 Carving Knife

Firstly Global knives for me are the just the best.. well balanced, sharp, light and good looking. If you have never used before you will fall in love instantly. As for this knife, I bought a great set of 6 Global knives and block from Amazon, however the set was missing a carving knife.... so of course had to remedy that. This was the one I chose, and it, as expected, was great. Makes short work of your Sunday roast without ripping your carefully cooked meat! Completes the set perfectly... don't dishwasher though... take care

This is a seriously good knife. Slices through meat with ease. It's pricey but money well spent I think.

unbeatable knives for sharpness ,however the price of this is that you have to treat them like cut glass...no dishwasher and if you drop it : firstly it would probbaly take your toe off but if it doesn't it will shatter and they won't replace it.

Whilst I give the Japanese their place for the working of steel and imparting and maintaining frighteningly sharp edges, I do not believe there is a tradition in Japan of roasting large hunks of meat. This is a deep and inflexible blade which functions excellently as a slicer of boneless joints. It is just that I suspect, when working around bones, a European style carving knife may be more functional.

gorgeous knife as all Global's are unfortunately the zip tie on the packaging was broken and a hundred to one it slid out cut me badly. totally not the sellers fault so your aware ok ? but obviously anyone who buys a knife over the net beware!! as for the seller bril on time perfect no issue with recommending them

Bought this knife for my fathers 85th Birthday....he has been moaning for years that he has never found the right knife to carve the Sunday roast meat. His feed back was 'it's like carving heaven' so I guess this knife must be brilliant because it's finally after many years stopped his moaning.

cuts through vegetables/meat like they're made of butter. Cutting used to be the bane of my cooking, now i love it.

The knife shown in the photo is a classic Global Carving knife. The knife you receive however will be the 35th anniversary one with the red 35 on the side. If you are looking to match a 35th anniversary set, this is the knife for you. If you are looking for one to match your classic Global knife set, this won’t be. Unfortunately I wasn’t after a 35th anniversary one and feel mislead by the image and description hence the 1 star.
